I think the fandom is less reducing new female characters to love interests and more afraid of the writers doing just that and having another kickass woman fall for the unstoppable charms of Steve McG (again) like he's the show's very own Gary Stu, it's a bit tired and squicks me out personally because of the age gap. I'd love a mentor-rookie type relationship&friendship between them! And hey, it's a safe space, it's ok to speculate
For me the whole thing is a vicious cycle. Fans keep talking about romance, writers think that’s what we want. I genuinely think that’s why they’re considering Steve and Alicia, because fans kept harping on about it... and I don’t like that because not only do I much prefer Lynn for him anyway, but he is with someone and I think we shouldn’t be contemplating a new love interest while he already has one.
I just think it sends the wrong message really.
And like I said, we’ve got a lot more to worry about than who Tani sleeps with or doesn’t sleep with.
The writers may be idiots who only think like that, but I’d like to see fandom being more intelligent and try not to stoop to the show runner’s level!!! (outside of fanfiction anyway!)
I’ve made a hawaii 50 sideblog like 200 years late but w/e
@hawaii50s
go give it a follow!!!
Alright gal! Numbers 3, 5, 31, 92 and 85
3: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17. ”With time comes to believe I had imagined the whole situation. And now on leave from their weeks of my unit I am in Venice again.” It’s a graphic novel > The Sandman - endless nights.
5: What does your latest text message from someone else say? “Look I already have quorum” It was from my friend that at the time wanted to bang me =x
31: Smell the air. What do you smell? Summertime sadness, go away winter *cries* Seriously tho, now I smell fries, I just eat it.
85: What’s the last song you listened to? Spotfy tell’s me it’s Panda - Desiigner
92: You can re-live any point of time in your life. The time-span can only be a half-hour, though. What half-hour of your past would you like to experience again? I would give anything to go back in time and see my grandma at least once more. To hug her one last time and tell her how much I loved her.
Thank you babe for playing with me <3
Let’s get personal!
Happy birthday from me as well, Genevieve! You are rad and so is your blog.

I could totally see them just pining and denying themselves for those couple of seasons neither willing to risk their friendship with brief liaisons in between after breakups. *rubs greedy hands together*
Well, in the one I have started, they basically have a platonic relationship in person, but a romantic/sexual relationship over the phone, which develops over the course of S1. I’m a little stuck with it at the moment. Did you want to take a look and maybe give suggestions?

I can still enjoy the show (this is coming from someone who likes Shadowhunters) but the writers have been pretty extra clueless about what to do with their characters this season.
Oh I agree. I still love the show and it's nowhere near the point where I want to quit it, but it feels a lot like the writers didn't expect to make it to season 6 so they kind of went, "What now?" and then just picked plots from a hat (which is why Gabriel's plot is a repeat of Victor Hesse's plot).

Where the hell is the continuation to anyone’s storyline?
Right? Season 6 is all over the place.
