I understand that I have a lot to learn but I still believe that oppressed groups are capable of oppressing other oppressed groups, even their own, with the power of the dominant hegemony behind them.

Why is this on anon? I'm perfectly open to having a discussion about this and I'd like to tag my replies with a username. Or is it because you don't want me to reply anything but publicly?I'm saying internalised racism is a contributing factor to systematic oppression, it's a tool used by the dominant hemegony. So because it contributes it means that it's used to prop up the dominant hegemony. Like products being sold in countries like South Korea to whiten skin - and many people there have internalised the dominant idea that whiter is better. That helps them sell more and completely feeds into white supremacy from that age when your family and your society is telling you these ideas.I'm saying that the people who have internalised the -ism are perfectly capable of inflicting the -ism on another member of an oppressed group. They have the power of the system behind them, even as they themselves suffer from that -ism. They're contributing to oppression, doesn't that make them both oppressor and oppressed?
