So from what remember Dipper didn't have any ill feelings towards Mermando in The Deep End so why is he so against him in Puppet Opera? I mean there was this incident:

My little sister brought this to my attention. An old Channel 4 puppet opera adaptation of The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde. A beautiful memory of my childhood - it used to make me cry and lo and behold that's exactly what I'm doing now that I've just rewatched it.
