So tonight during snuggle time I was kneeling on the ground petting Forte and wanted to check out a response. So I covered my face with my arms/hands and leaned forward until my head was on the ground. (To be clear I was not in any distress, it's not good to introduce that to a puppy this young.). I just wanted to see how he'd react.
Forte grabbed his blanket, which was next to us, and wormed his way under me and started shoving the blanket into my face. I laughed, because how can I not. So he did it more enthusiastically, tail wagging so hard I could hear it thumping against the x-pen.
I gave him lots of praise and belly rubs, which he likes for it.
This is something I could turn into a task.
I'm trying very hard to observe the ways Forte responds to things with future tasks in mind. He's different from Faye and I don't want to train the exact same responses to tasks if there's a way he's more naturally inclined, if that makes sense. I think it'd be different if she were still working and being his mentor. But since she's not I'm trying to suss out how he likes to move/what behavior is most natural for him.
Anyway, I wish I had gotten a video because it was adorable and hilarious. Instead please enjoy these pictures from some of our training walks around town
