Scrappy *Could* Defeat Bad Guys, Part one of Season One
To be honest, I get really confused when people say that Scrappy was weak, or “arrogant and stupid” for thinking he could do it. But guys, it’s just not true. You’re looking at Scrappy, looking at his size, and making a judgement based entirely on that. Ignoring his super strength or the traps he built or anything like that. Also, remember that a lot of times we never even go to see how things would have turned out. YES! Scrappy’s battle record was not perfect, but he was far from helpless. FAR from it. So, for your conveniance, I have begun a series of every single time Scrappy defeated a bad guy. Look at it, look in my eyes, and tell me again that he’s helpless.
1. “The Scarab Lives!”
Scrappy is the one who captures the Scarab for the gang. After he, Shaggy, and Scooby escape from a conveyor belt, Scrappy leaps off from the rope they’re holding onto, lands on the Scarab, and holds his paws over the Scarab’s eyes, allowing Scooby and Shaggy to crash into him.
Also! He caught the scarab earlier in the episode! When the Scarab was leaving, Scrappy charged after him and did successfully knock over a fully grown man. Unfortunately said fully grown man somehow managed to change out of his disguise super quickly, so the gang told Scrappy to leave him he. And yes, Scrappy complied with them, because, newsflash, Scrappy is actually quite cooperative with the gang when he’s not caught up in the moment of chasing down a monster.
2. Night Ghoul Of Wonderworld
Scrappy spots the Night Ghoul clinging to some clock machinery, and sets the clock’s hands spinning very rapidly, causing the night ghoul to hit against the wall with a thud, knocking him out and allowing the gang to unmask him.
Additionally, this is the episode where Scrappy demonstrates the ability to punch through solid rock.
Additionally, Scrappy fell off a building and survived without so much of a scratch or even any indication of pain. This guy isn’t just strong, he’s made of iron.
3. Shiver and Shake, It’s A Demon Snake!
Scrappy, Scooby, and Shaggy are fleeing a monster. Scrappy being Scrappy thinks that they are actually trying to find the monster, and Shaggy and Scooby turn around to find Scrappy holding the monster saying, “Don’t worry Uncle Scooby, I found him!”
4. The Demon of The Dug Out!
Scrappy fires baseballs at the monster to drive him into Fred and Daphne’s net as the final trap.
6. I Left My Neck In San Fransisco: Caught the villain in a trap. Even though the villain escaped a few moments later, it still gave the gang time to surround it and make the final deductions.
7. The Ghoul, The Bat and the Ugly:
Scrappy sees the monster escaping through a rotating trap door, and spins it hard, causing the monster to fly out, landing on the pool ball table and having a lampshade land on his head. (That’s right, TVTropes, Scrappy was hanging lampshades before it was cool)
Moral of the Story: Don’t let looks fool you. There is much more to Scrappy then meets the eye.
