More photos of men in suits *may* or *may not* make an appearance :)
Not only must you be mindful of your wardrobe, but you must also understand that your body is a commodity. Anytime you appear in public, it is assumed that any body part you show is something that is available to everyone. Look at your hands. Are they strong? What about your arms? Muscular? Well, are they available for me to enjoy? No? THEN WHY ARE YOU SHOWING THEM? What kind of message do you think you’re sending?
When Suits are a Stumbling Block: A Plea to My Brothers in Christ
My satirical take on modesty culture.
There is nothing wrong or "sinful" about being a sexual being. Engaging in safe, consensual activity will not harm or destroy you.
On the other hand, being shamed for your sexual desires, then giving in to them with little or no knowledge of your own body or sexuality, can be damaging.
Please educate yourself. Get to know your own body. Don't let the narrow views of others dictate your decisions.
You are awesome and worthy of love and respect!
The False Dichotomy of Purity Culture
Purity culture thrives on the notion that if you are not celibate, then you are running wild in the street humping everything in sight.
There is never any talk of having a healthy sexuality that consists of boundaries or consent. The talk is either of making your body available to anyone or everyone; of one night stands and casual hook-ups, of having random sex without caring about the consequences.
Purity culture refuses to see complexity and nuance in terms of sexuality. It only seeks to shame those who are not following ONE strict behavior.
So where does that leave those who are sexually active? Those who abstain from sex with a partner, but engage in self-pleasure?
