Is Purizon Chicken and Fish a good dry cat food to feed along with wet? It has really high reviews and for my beginners eye the ingredients look good
Since it is a fish-based food, I wouldn’t feed it. Although herring, the fish used in the food, is one of the fish lower in mercury, it can still be an issue for many of the other reasons listed in my fish cat food ask. Remember that cats will be more sensitive than humans to toxins in even low-mercury fish, because of their smaller body mass.
Unfortunately they don’t seem to have a non-fish flavored food, and one of their other flavors, Lamb & Fish, have two of the three most allergenic animal proteins for cats; if you do choose to feed it, the chicken and fish one is better for that reason. This is disappointing, because they have fish-free dog foods!
