FOTD: Mini Work Makeup
Today, I'm attending a local community meeting as a "supervisor," so I'm trying to look a bit intelligent and conservative. I also woke up 45 minutes late, so I skimped on a lot of products... here's the outcome.
Face - quick touch up with Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturizer SPF 20
Cheek - Laura Geller (chemically unkosher, but I'll still use it) Como and Portofino highlights and cheek powder duo; spread the cheek color up to the temples
Eyes - Tarte Royal Palette Mushroom and Mocha colors in a light wash; pinky white on my brow bones and inner corners. Touch of Lotus organic mascara to the lashes.
Lip - Purple Lab Luvah in Mother's Boy - nude color.
After I dusted mineral veil gold from Bare Escentuals and Shiseido eye brow color, I was done! Very natural, conservative, but well put together look. The tinted moisturizer doesn't even out my skin as great as some other products and makes my skin appear a bit bumpy, but I suppose the issue is with my skin, not the product. I'm going home for lunch now, and may update my look a bit to stand up to the weather!
FOTD: Simply Natural
Alright, I admit straight off that I don't keep track of all the horrible chemicals that I ingest through food and personal care items. Nevertheless, I try.
Today's makeup look is sports oriented, which in my dictionary means: long-wear, natural, and light.
For face, I start off with the Physician's Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 50. I purchased this for 2 for 1 in the color Natural-Tan. The shade is a bit too dark for me, but with the help of a moistened wedge, I can smooth it on. In the afternoon, I notice that my oily skin starts to look a bit bumpy and shiny. For that, I need some dusting powder, which I forgot to toss in my bag today.
The eyes, lips and the mascara are complete with the Korres High Drama kit. It includes golden, dark green, and bronze shadows, plum colored cherry oil gloss, and the Rice Bran mascara, which is one of my favorite and mildest mascaras.
I popped on Tarte's Achiote Cream blush. This was a dissappointing product. It is not as smooth as the Purple Lab Cheek Impant, not as pigmented, and doesn't last. Finishing off the look, I used my fingers to smooth on the highlighter from the Purple Lab Luxury Squared compact. That's all for today!
FOTD: Moody Monday
You know when a week starts off, and all you want is another day of the weekend? That's how I felt today.
After brewing myself a double cup of coffee, I decided to use Stila today, because I won't be doing any type of physical exercise today. When I am going to be active, I try to avoid Stila, because their products sometimes make me itch.
I started by splashing my face with water, then creaming on Philosophy Hope in a Tube SPF 30. After waiting a bit, I used my holy grail Purple Lab Luxury Squared under my eyes, and inner corners. With my fingers, I also tapped on the highlighter onto the bridge of my nose, under the brows, and at the cupid's bow.
For eyes, I kept it simple today by using the bottom combination off of the Stila Glamour Goddess palette, which has a very neutral finish. My liners were thicker than usual, using the Stila Lionfish liner, which smoothes on very easily. Topping my lashes with Clinique High Impact Mascara in black for natral looking defined lashses.
Lips are also kept simple with eos lip sphere and Jelly Pong Pong Lip Orchid with the orange-y shade. For cheeks, I swirled on Purple Lab Cheek Implants in Six Inch Heels, and dusted the Stila Kitten allover shimmer from the Stila Glamour Goddes palette to highlight my cheekbones. Done and done.
Splash of Paco Rabanne Lady Million sets my mood to somehow grow out of my moody morning and be productive. Woohoo!
