Cream cheese gives these delightful sugar cookies a tender texture and a hint of tanginess. The purple polka-dotted design adds a fun and whimsical touch to these cookies, making them ideal for parties, celebrations, or simply satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients: 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened. 4 ounces cream cheese, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 3 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. Purple food coloring gel. Powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions: Put the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar in a large bowl and mix them together until they are light and fluffy. After you add the egg and vanilla extract, keep mixing until everything is well mixed. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones one at a time and mix them together until a soft dough forms. Split the dough in half, making two equal parts. In one piece of dough, add purple food coloring gel and knead it until the color is spread out evenly. Put both pieces of dough in the fridge for at least an hour after wrapping them in plastic wrap. Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Roll out small pieces of each color of dough into balls. Don't crowd the cookies on the baking sheet; leave space between each one. To make a polka-dot pattern, gently press down on each cookie with the bottom of a glass or a fork. After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Then, move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the cookies when they are cool to make them even sweeter. Have fun with your tasty Purple Polka-Dotted Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies!
