That isn’t what this is about.

This is about a teacher publicly shaming a rape victim, who is one of his students, potentially putting her in danger (especially since a lot of Mehta’s twitter followers are from the alt-right and regularly post misogynistic remarks).

And who cares what the reason was. She has the freedom of speech just as Rick Mehta does.

What Rick Mehta is doing is wrong is abdicating his responsibility to create a safe working environment for his students.

I think your wrong about how the bonfire system works in darksouls 1, in DS3 you are so spoiled with bonfires everywhere there never is that feeling of fear while your looking for the bonfire, should I turn back to go get more apple juice should I continue to find the bonfire and risk it. It also helps this by not allowing you to fast travel right off the bat. You need to earn that by defeating the hardest boss in the game, the way you found bonfires is by exploring everything and everywhere.

the problem with bonfires isn’t the anxiety of dying between bonfires. i’d argue that that doesn’t really exist in ds1 either, because if you’re ever seriously worried about pressing on you can always just homeward bone that shit.the bonfires in ds1 are inconsistently placed, so sometimes they’re too far apart or you have entire areas which just totally lack a bonfire. the trek from the anor londo bonfire to o&s’ boss room takes several slow and agonizing minutes even if you sprint past all the enemies. it’s not fun, it’s not tense, it’s just frustrating. that’s not as bad as the slog from the daughter of chaos to the bed of chaos via the covenant shortcut, which takes forever against a boss where you’re expected to die several times.if bosses are going to be difficult enough that it will take multiple attempts to beat them, the journey between bonfire and boss should ideally be as short and convenient as possible. there’s nothing to be gained by making it long and tricky to navigate.
