Welcome to the Jungle [Ca Closed]
Jaspers, ever since those strange new districts popped up, could barely keep a lid on his curiosity. District Mu, District Lambda, and all the others that had names too easily forgotten-- it was strange, wasn't it? It's not just him, right? He knows he didn't spend much time outside his house, let alone in a city, and if this kind of thing is perfectly natural, please be quick to stop him! But places like these-- places he never even knew could be real, from underwater cities to civilizations in the sky-- they don't just turn up out of the blue one day! Perplexing, suspicious, intriguing, odd, peculiar, and a million other words come to mind when he thinks about how this could be, but not one of them is perfectly natural! This was a turn of events that begged for investigation, that demanded their attention, and Jaspers would jump at the opportunity to give it.
He fully intends to explore every cranny of every district, as each one seemed like a whole new adventure on it's own, but he was drawn to the gates of District Mu most of all. He spent so much time in the urban jungle, treating it as though it was an actual jungle-- and he was fine with that, really, he was! But concrete didn't make up for lush foliage, and the honking of cars didn't come close to the sounds of wild life. It just wasn't the same! To have a real jungle take it's place was more thrilling than anything else he's seen in the city, bar those rare times he came across people he thought were long, long gone.
(And even then, that's still saying something-- after all, what could ever come close to that? No number of cities or jungles could make up for a reunion with an old friend. He only wishes he could spend more time in their company...)
The glen leading up to District Mu's gates felt so quiet, contrasting harshly against the busy city serving as it's background. He thought more people would be interested in checking it out! He knows he's been, for the longest time. Maybe the thought of the new woodlands wasn't as appealing to those of a less feline nature, or maybe they were just too busy to be running around in some forest-- but whatever the reason, he can't be too disappointed that there's not so many folk wandering about. It just adds to the... the immersion of it all! Yes, that's the word! He always loves playing with others, and when you've got such a big forest to do so in, even moreso! But otherwise, when all was still and silent bar the chirping of insects and birds, with the sun casting a warm, orange tint over everything under it's touch, the atmosphere just felt so very, very right. He never felt more feral, more at home, than he does today.
Any hesitation he held melts away in his gut, and once he pushes open the vine-covered gates with an unnatural creeeak, he forgets all the words he's ever learned. He forgets how dapper his little suit is, as things like fashion and comfort hardly matter to his prey. He forgets everything about the city, and as he assumes his crouch and wanders into the jungle, the jungle that feels so familiar and foreign at the same time, he knows where he really belonged all along. He bounds into it without a second thought-- after all, what good could second thoughts do for a ferocious wild cat?
The hunt, Jaspers says under hushed breath...
Is on.
(... Not that he wouldn't sniff the flowers he barely recognized, first. And it's out of the question, not to roll around in the odd-looking plants for a while. But once he's done basking in the afternoon sun and giggling to himself, the hunt is on for real. ... So long as he can find something to hunt!)
