what;s pusoy dos? like what are the rules. genuinely curious
ok! pusoy dos is apparently filipino poker? but i don't know the rules of poker, only pusoy dos, so i don't know the differences lmao. it's played by four people usually, and the goal is to lose all the cards in your hand
some rules:
suits from lowest to highest: clubs, spades, hearts, diamonds
lowest card is 3, highest is 2
so the lowest card is 3 of clubs, and the highest is 2 of diamonds
game starts when the person with the lowest card plays their best hand with that card, then the next player has to place cards in the same combination with higher rankings next (if they have and/or want to play those cards)
example: i put down a pair (3 of clubs and 3 of hearts). you can put down a pair also, as long as it's higher ranking (3 of diamonds and 3 of spades can be played for example, but you can go higher. you can even escalate to queen already if thats part of your strategy)
if you put down some cards and no one can put down higher ranking cards, (ikaw ang reyna!) you can start a new round with a new card combination
game technically ends once someone has played all their cards but we usually play until there's a clear loser lol
the loser shuffles the cards for the next round :)
card combinations we use, from lowest to highest:
pair: two cards of the same number
tres: three cards of the same number
straight: five consecutive cards, any suit
flush: any five cards, same suit
straight flush: five consecutive cards, same suit
full house: any three cards of the same number with a pair (the ranking of the hand depends on the pair)
kwatro: four cards of the same number with a kicker card (can be any card)
royal flush: cards jack, queen, king, ace, and 2, same suit
