When I’m in a relationship, I will ALWAYS ask my girlfriend if she wants to come with me, absolutely anywhere. Even if it’s somewhere stupid like just walking to my mailbox. If I’m hanging out with friends, I’ll invite her, always. If I’m getting food, I’ll invite her, always. If I’m running errands, I’ll invite her, always. I feel like that’s how it should be. Even if she says no, the offer should always be there. You’re in a relationship to spend significant time with one another. Maybe it’s just me, but when I’m in a relationship I like to spend as much time as possible with my girlfriend. No matter how close we are or if we have classes together, or even live together. No matter how far we are, if it take an hour, two or three to get there. That offer should ALWAYS be there. If I’m in a relationship, my goal is to make time for my girlfriend. Not do things without her. Granted I know people need some alone time or special friend time, but talk that over. Tell them. Communicate. Don’t just text and say you’re doing nothing if they ask. That hurts. Don't talk it up and make what you're doing sound so fun, but neglect to invite your girlfriend. That hurts worse. It makes us feel like you don't want us there... Or that someone you're going with doesn't want us there... ALWAYS include and inform your partner. DON’T just leave them in the dark.
Do this for EACH OTHER it shouldn't be just a one way street.
Remember yourself as an 8 year old. She never left. The 8 year old self, protect her. Always.
