For all you youth in Bikelife and outside of Bikelife who follow and understand what’s been going on before this picture was taken, well right here is magic that doesn’t need a thousand words but just that with talking and listening to what the other party needs to help them move on can be done without ever having to choose a weapon or violence to do so. This a clip from a quick interview with Kenan and Michael from Hackney East London who I met by chance on the street Saturday. They say their biggest fear growing up in London is being stabbed. It's terrible to think that these two youth one aged 14 the other 15 have such fears at such a young age. When I get back to London I'm going to devote more time to this with the help and knowledge of the youth I speak to and with the help of George Turner who runs @carneyscommunity and lost the youth mentioned in one of his tweets on the 26th April 2017 So sad to have lost another 2 of our participants to #knifecrime in the last 4 days. Mentor and Mentee. Yesterday while at Cycle Pitstop got to take this portrait of @jususaberdeen and 16 year old Michael who is being mentored by Jusus for many years to stay off the streets, teaches him how to build bikes and maintain his own for free at the shop. It's great to see places like this exist for the youth considering the amount of knife crime in London amongst the youth.
