forgive this detective bc she’s had a couple drinks again this evening but here’s something i can’t stop stop thinking about.
s/o to @literatvre bc she made this post today that got me thinnin’.
we have, as of right now and as i have seen across my dash, found connections on @puttingreen in relation to two (2) horror games. both of these games rely heavily on the concept of reality, and also break the forth wall of players. there’s more questions than answers at this point and i know i’m probably getting far too deep into this but i think it’s important to think about what ddlc and pt are on the outside, in the most simple of terms. those aren’t just two random games to pull together, they are very different but they have extremely uncanny similarities that i think we would be unfortunate to look past.
both pt and ddlc have elements that break the forth wall, and create a sense of existential dread. i think everything we’re been able to experience only furthers the fact that puttingreen has given us a sense of both of these elements. i think it also shows that video games might be important when it comes to solving things--- now and potentially in the future (i’m waiting for a ‘the stanley parable’ reference because that game is nothing but forth wall breaking and existential dread)
this is my rambling while tipsy but just something to think about. i don’t have the desire to fall down rabbit holes and watch playthroughs or play through both games myself to collect even more information but i think that references are really important to setting the tone and expectation of what this rp might be like. and frankly, that excites me.
