What hobbies do you have outside of rp!

I've got a few! Besides writing my own short stories / novels and scriptwriting - which has recently graduated into becoming part of my job - I also draw comics on occasion, rollerblade whenever I have the time, write media reviews, and make little magazine-like pdfs for fun! I also ... know this is technically not a hobby, but I adore making powerpoints for uni.

IT  IS  A  SIMPLE  NOTEBOOK  HE  TAKES,     and  an  even  simpler  nod  that  he  offers  in  response,  but  let  that  not  distract  from  the  sheer  complexity  of  this  very  ordinary  offering.  It  comes  with  a  warmth  that  is  difficult  to  discern  –    normalcy  crashing  headfirst  into  the  very  concept  of  a  gesture  and  hurdling  in  vapid  kindness  towards  his  unaccustomed  heart.    It  leaves  his  lips  to  part,  and  his  fingers  to  curl  with  a  little  more  depth  against  the  cover.  Does  this  make  them  friends?

He  utters  a     "  ...  thank  you,"    first,  but  struggles  to  find  another  way  to  express  his  earnest  gratitude.  In  the  end,  after  an  extended  silence  within  which  he  stares  at  the  item  in  his  hold,  it  is  curiosity  he  defaults  to,  and  a  questioning  tilt  of  head  he  employs.    "You  really  are  observant,  Near.  How  did  you  know  mine  ran  out?"

Getting a Christmas gift for a guy like Near was a little daunting.

He did have somewhat of an advantage in that he'd often seen Near surrounded by little toys like robots.

In that sense the toy already halfway suited Near's interests, he hoped - it took the shape of a small robot - albeit a bit more of a cutesy one, resembling some sort of bear or adorable creature and being both pink and blue. What he really hoped would interest Near would be the virtual pet toy held in its center.

"I'm glad you like it, dude..." He really was happy to hear that - hearing Near's reassurance did make him feel better about his own gift and he only hoped that the toy itself would entertain him - Tamagotchis were pretty popular and although he hadn't owned one since he was a boy, he'd hoped Near would still have fun with it! "New features...? I dunno about the Tamagotchi inside but it looks like you can turn the bear into like a space ship or something...!" He gestures to the box with his finger.

"You've got batteries on you, yeah...?" His voice was quiet as he mostly allowed Near to look over the packaging for himself - if it came down to it, he could buy some spare batteries for him! "Oh, that's okay man! I mean, I wasn't thinking about also getting a gift from you when I got you this! You can do whatever you think is fair, just know you don't owe me anything,"

Truly, he didn't want Near to feel pressured one way or the other and as Near was already murmuring to himself, it seemed that he might have had something in mind. Ryuji was genuinely curious to see what could be - he never knew what to expect from a guy like Near and when his question did finally come he was surprised.

"Whoa, you've got those...?" They both sounded like pretty great options to him - the CD player sounded pretty rad, especially! Who knew he had one sitting around?

"I mean I'll take the CD player if you're offering, man! I'm honestly surprised you never used it much - more of a digital music type of guy?"

ooc. i draw like, a lot. current projects i aim to accomplish this year in fact mostly have to do with making comics i’d like to publish someday! i also write as well, although not quite as frequently.

if i have access to a kitchen, i like to cook and bake! cooking’s how i stress relieve myself tbh

also i like playing video games but man looking at my backlog makes me shudder sometimes

omg, really? ha i'm glad someone liked it - also thankfully, there is no porn on it - it's mostly just nature pics and gif's from movies like romeo + juliet - like it lowkey gives off hipster vibes.

The question annoys him as soon as it registers, and Light's only saving grace is that Near can't see the face he's making. He doesn't answer, not at first. Instead, he lets the silence stretch, just enough to hopefully make the other doubt himself. Whether or not it works is up to anyone's guess, as the so-called successor's behavior doesn't change.

" I don't know. Am I supposed to feel better? " He leans back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. It's not difficult to see that these phone calls do more harm than good. Each time the conversation ends, Light feels even more restless than he did in the beginning of the call. It feels a lot like losing and he hates it.

" You've already decided who I am, but you're wrong. " Even though they can't see each other, he changes his position so he can stare at the empty chair in front of him. " You're so stubborn. Just like he was. " Bringing up L is risky, but it's the one thing they have in common. Perhaps, this can help him get a reaction.

" Seeing people in pain doesn't make me happy. Quite the opposite. Ryuzaki- no, L knew that about me. We were friends, you know? " For a moment, it's almost like he can see the detective sitting in front of him. He disappears almost instantly, leaving Light with the phone still pressed against his ear. " I want to be your friend as well, Near. "
