dusts off blog i truly am procrastination's final boss
Katsuo rubbed the back of his neck, the earlier confidence in his voice fading into something quieter. “Yeah… I get how that sounded,” he admitted with a small exhale. “When a guy like me says something like that, it probably sounds like I’m whining about a full plate.” His gaze dropped for a moment before he looked back up at Ichiban Kasuga. “Truth is, most people think I already have everything handed to me.”
He shifted his weight slightly, choosing his words more carefully this time. “What I meant wasn’t that the world owes me something. It’s more like… my path’s already been written. Family name, expectations, alliances—every step laid out before I even get a say.” Katsuo gave a faint, self-deprecating smile. “Sometimes it feels less like having the world and more like being assigned a part in someone else’s story.”
“Guys like you,” he continued, nodding toward Ichiban, “you fought for everything you’ve got. That’s real. No script, no safety net. I respect that more than you probably think.” He paused briefly. “All I was trying to say is… I want that same freedom to choose what kind of man I become. Not just inherit it.”
Katsuo dipped his head slightly in apology. “So yeah… if that came off ungrateful, that’s on me. I know I started further ahead than most people ever will. I just don’t want the finish line decided for me before the race even starts.”
For a moment Ichiban just stands there, the words hanging heavier than he expected. Then the tension fades and his frown turns into an apologetic smile. It's his turn to rub the back of his neck. A part of him wants to reach out and squeeze the guy's shoulder, but that doesn't seem like the most appropriate thing to do.
" Is that such a bad thing, though? I mean, I get it. There's a part of me that still hates being told what to do," he admits, realizing how childish he must sound. Like some kid who's still stuck in a rebellious phase. " But that just means somebody cares enough about you to want to see you succeed in life. "
The confession catches him off-guard. Respect is for people who know what they're doing, not for guys like him who're just stumbling through things. This time he doesn't stop himself. Ichiban reaches out gives Katsuo's shoulder a light squeeze. Now he finds himself wondering if this is what Arakawa would've done in a moment like this. The thought alone is enough to make him sigh.
" Let's say you have the freedom to do what you want. What's next step? I'm pretty good at starting from the bottom, so maybe I can help. "
OKAAAAAY gotta lock in and write these days, ive been spending too much time watching korean dramas & movies & playing umamusume

right back at you friendo 💞💞💞 love seeing you on my dash, whether it's roleplaying or just ranting about this and that. I feel like we became mutuals at a time when we were both going through tough times but I'm very happy we did <3 wishing u a happy spring.
❛ the world wasn’t built for guys like us. that’s why we gotta take whatever we decide is ours. ❜. ( To Ichiban)
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧 (𝐞𝐩𝐬. 𝟏-𝟒) 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. & @araexec.
" I don't know about that. " It's not like he disagrees with the sentiment entirely; he's well aware that the world isn't particularly welcoming to outcasts like him. However, there's a part of the confession that rubs him the wrong way. ' We gotta take whatever we decide is ours. ' Things are never so simple, are they?
" Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude. I guess I'd rather take what the world throws at me and make the best of it, you know? " Ichiban chooses his words carefully, mindful not to sound too judgmental. It's not the first time he's had to deal with a rich kid who thinks he deserves the world just because he says so.
If anything, he's way too familiar with the type. That's exactly how he knows one wrong word can change everything in the moment. " You're in a far more fortunate position than I was in at your age, so don't waste it. That's my only advice. "
MINE'S been asked out for drinks- where else but earth angel? if it's fine drinks and company and a damn good time yer after, look no further. place is damn near heaven on earth! plus they got a karaoke mic- what more could ya want? after rackin' his brains for what feels like forever tryin' to suss out the hotshot's yucks and yums, somethin' halfway between business caj and sexy secretary's been settled on- hot pink heels and a matchin' snakeskin print blazer, some fashion glasses... oh, and a shirt unbuttoned and skirt raked up to show off just enough chest and thigh- puttin' both the ass and personal in personal assistant! let's see if goromi can't get mine-kun to loosen up his lips some (the man himself too, while she's at it...). see if there ain't another side to the suit and stiff, after all- well, it's been a hot minute since she got all dolled up and had some fun, ain't it? mine'd just better appreciate all the effort goromi's gone to for him, is all!
❛ ya come here often, handsome? nah, i'd remember a face as chiselled as yours... ya know, the only thing i dig more than a big, hulkin' hunk of a guy's a hard-worker. and you look just the type- yer go for two! just my type... i wanna know what else yer hidin' under that suit, 'sides those muscles. you've been workin' hard, haven't ya, pretty boy? i can tell. look at them shoulders- yer stiff as a board meetin'! if ya play your cards right, maybe i'll treat ya to a corporate massage. i got the face and hands of an angel, ya know. unless... you already got another someone special in yer life?... ❜ / HDHDHDHFJDHG JDFGJDFK !!!
&. @madcg / I just remembered I kept this in my drafts for too long.
It's unusual for the patriarch of the Majima family to ask to meet him in private, which is part of the reason why Mine accepted the invitation without giving it too much thought. Well, that's not entirely true. A member of the family extended the invitation, on behalf of the patriarch. The mad dog doesn't seem particularly interested in the clan's problems, which only makes Mine more curious about the whole thing. Maybe he's had a change of heart, unlikely as that sounds.
He steps into the Champion District and his feet carry him toward Shellac before he even realizes what's happening. That's when he remembers the meeting is supposed to take place in a different bar. A quiet, almost embarrassed smile crosses his face. He stands there for a few moments, staring at the door, before eventually turning around. Earth Angel - that's where he's supposed to go.
Nothing in the world could have prepared him for the sight that greets him when he enters the bar. He opens his mouth. Closes it. Then opens it again. He probably looks ridiculous, but for once, Mine can't bring himself to care.
" Majima-san. What is this? " He doesn't even know where to look: the outfit the man is currently wearing, his new hairstyle or the fact that he didn't even bother to shave his goatee. Mine can see his lips moving, but he can't hear anything. It's like his mind refuses to acknowledge the words. There's a glass waiting for him on the counter.
" No, leave the bottle. " If he wants to survive the night he's going to need more alcohol in his system. After a moment of hesitation, he approaches the counter and takes a seat at the bar. He stares at the glass in front of him for a moment before downing it in one go. All he has to do is ignore the man's strange getup and act like this is an average business meeting. " Are we here to talk about your team's contributions? " Is that nail polish?
I'm used to this kinda thing. Besides, if they wanna hate, I say let 'em. The hell should either of us care? We know where you're at. If your heart's in the right place, that's all that matters.
➻ CHITOSE let out a small laugh at what he had said. Of course the ghosts would be older than him (hopefully). ❝ Y'know, come to think of it, I've never really been exposed to modern ghosts or haunted houses. Even kid ghosts that you hear about on media is older than even Adachi-san. ❞ She let herself laugh at her remark before falling silent, listening to what Ichiban had to say.
It's true that she misses the feeling of making videos—even more so when Tatara Channel was starting out. Tatara Channel was her baby and, before it fell into self-righteous hands, it was a place where she could escape. But now, with how things were, she wasn't quite sure if she had the right to return and rebrand as something else. Internet culture aside, people in general were volatile and hurtful. There were plenty of hate comments thrown her way when she had started out and she'd seen how many hate comments ghost commentators would have when she would come across one or two videos late at night. What if, without her Tatara Channel name, she wasn't engaging enough to keep viewership around? Plus, even with the channel name, she felt like such a huge impostor; especially now that everything was said to be a farce.
❝ Eh...I don't know. I'm not even sure if it's in the cards for me right now. I mean, it's kind of surprising that you would put the idea of making videos again. Even equally incredible that you don't harbor some kind of ill-will when I revealed to you that I basically ruined your life that way. ❞
Chitose was absolutely convinced that there was no bad bone in Ichiban's body but sometimes she wondered if he was actually good at hiding his resentment. She doesn't fault him if he did; it seemed that Ichiban, Adachi, and Nanba all had fulfilling lives after a long period of hardship and then suddenly, some rich girl with a penchant for self-righteous content just took that away. Talk about optics.
❝ Ah, I think this is a good spot to post up. ❞
She sat on the ground, looking towards an open hallway that had seen better days. It felt like she was playing one of those horror video games where she had no weapon and had to save a friend from some mysterious, ghostly entity.
❝ I looked this place up while we were on our way here. Apparently this forest is the real deal—rituals and everything. There's even stories of people going missing without a cause, too. Talk about spirited away! ❞
" Huh? Why not? You know I don't blame you for it, right? " She'd been scared, he told himself. Anyone would have been. If their positions had been reversed, Ichiban liked to believe he would have chosen differently, but that didn't give him the right to judge Chitose for doing what she had to do. More importantly, he understood that if her identity had been revealed, the consequences would have been far worse than anything he felt in the moment. After all, they belonged to different worlds.
Anger would have been simpler, and nobody would have questioned him for it, but that didn't make it right. There had been a point in his life when being angry was the only thing he knew. It wasn't until he met Arakawa that he learned there was another way. He had worked for far too long to become someone gentler just to throw it away now.
" And you didn't ruin my life! Okay, Chi-chan? " He'd be lying if he said the day the Tatara Channel expose aired didn't feel like the whole world had collapsed around him. However, he didn't want Chitose to feel guilty over what happened. She was too young to deal with regrets. How was she supposed to navigate the consequences of her actions when she had been sheltered for most of her life?
" Only villains say things like that, and you're not a villain. You're a valuable party member, alright? " After giving her a reassuring smile, Ichiban followed her example and sat across from her, on the ground. This way, if some ghost decided to show up they could quickly warn each other about it and... do what, exactly? Fight it with their flashlights? They weren't prepared at all for that scenario. And then, Chitose had to make everything worse with her discoveries.
" R-rituals? What kind of rituals? And what's that about people vanishing? " There were many reasons why people wanted to disappear, although Ichiban didn't want to think about it. It reminded him a little too much of the guys in the yakuza who wanted to leave the family behind. And, well, they succeeded. Nobody's heard from them ever again. " You're way too calm about this whole thing. "

" You looked at me like you wanted to say something else. " - TENSION LINER PROMPTS & @neuroslayyer.
Connor had been manufactured with efficiency in mind. He was approachable, but not the type who'd stand out in a crowd. That was the point, he supposed. A stranger could meet him and immediately relax in his presence. He didn't leave a long lasting impression on anyone, and that suited him just fine.
That was not something that applied to V. Her clothes made her hard to ignore.
The colors reflected in shop windows as they passed. His gaze dropped to the uniform he was wearing, although the action was rather pointless. It felt less like clothing and more like a decision already made for him. Meanwhile, in V's case, every piece looked chosen on purpose. Connor found himself wondering what it meant to be seen on purpose. He didn't know if he wanted to be seen, but the idea lingered anyway.
" I see. " He expected V to catch him staring, yet he found himself unprepared all the same. More than once, Connor had found that choosing the right words was the hardest part of passing as human. He knew what he wanted to say, yet it came out wrong. People had habits and verbal tics that made them unique in their way. He had began to wonder whether he was meant to develop any.
" Your clothing... " Do you dress like that for attention? Too accusatory, she would hear judgment in it. What does your style mean to you? Too personal, especially for casual conversation. " You seem to put a lot of effort into how you dress. Is that fun? "

@patientsun wondered: ( sleepover ) : our muses have been dared to spend the night in a reportedly haunted place together // ok but ichi and chi ghost hunting would be pretty funny
➻ WHEN Tomizawa mentioned that there was supposedly a haunted old house settled in a dense forest just a little outside of Honolulu, Chitose took that as a challenge and, frankly, teased Tomizawa about staying over there all alone not realizing that he would fight back and dare her to do it herself if "she was so brave and can do it." At the time, Chitose was absolutely shocked at the thought not quite sure if she could do it all alone. The closest she had gotten to anything haunted was the Hawaiian Haunt but that was with everybody in the team—and that wasn't fair to really compare it to since the haunt was just creeps they were fighting off.
In all honesty, a forest house didn't sound too bad on paper but the last time she was in a densely packed forest, it didn't go so well. In fact, they were almost burned to death and were a man short afterwards. But she wasn't about to prove Tomizawa wrong by showing her disadvantage so she stayed silent, weighing her options on how to go about fighting back with a quick and witty quip. But Ichiban jumped in and decided that it would be fun to go ghost-hunting and that Chitose should try—even going as far as offering to go with her to the location. Of course, everyone looked at him crazy (as they always do whenever he gets up to his antics) but Chitose found it sweet that he had whimsy to want to explore Hawaii outside of its touristy affairs. However, being an opportunist, she decided to open her mouth and raise the stakes as well. If Ichiban and she were to survive a night in that old haunted house, Tomizawa would have to owe them breakfast in Cream & Berry out of his own pocket.
And so, here they were: getting left out in the front of a dilapidated house that hasn't seen the light of day in ages.
❝ How old do you think this place is...? ❞ Chitose asked, flashlight shining inside the dusty foyer of the old house as the door creaked behind them. ❝ This place looks like it was abandoned in a hurry. Do you think we'd find ghosts? ❞
Chitose looked towards Ichiban's way, a familiar mischievous glint in her eyes appearing and she wonders what fun they might come across in their stay at such a haunt.
This was such a bad idea.
The dare had been meant for her, not him, yet Ichiban knew he couldn't leave Chitose on her own in an abandoned place. He expected the other guys to follow his example and join them, but all he got in exchange was a 'good luck, you two! ' from Adachi, and a thumbs up from Nanba. He didn't dare to ask anyone else after that.
Ichiban didn't believe in ghosts. Not really. He knew that most, if not all supernatural experiences could be explained in one way or another. Even so, standing there in the dark, surrounded by shifting shadows, he found himself holding his breath. He tried not to think about his own encounter with the supernatural from years ago, back when he just got released from prison and his mind had been in a fragile state.
Yes, a fragile state. That was the explanation he'd chosen in the end, because it was the only one that made sense. How else could he explain the fact that he'd spent the entire day with a girl who, apparently, hadn't been there at all? The more time passed, the less confident he became that it had ever happened.
He let out a sigh and tried not to think of it anymore, as there was no point in dwelling on the past. Ichiban turned his attention to Chitose, tightening his grip on his flashlight and moving closer to her. " Older than me, that's for sure. " It wasn't the worst place he'd ever seen, but that didn't make the situation any better.
" So, are you planning to film anything? " He tried to change the subject to something more casual, or so he thought. Tatara Channel had been something of a taboo topic, which is why he hadn't brought it up before. " From what I've seen, it's kind of a trend now for kids to go to haunted places and film it. I know you're not posting anymore, but... I thought you might miss that kind of thing. "
"My psionic abilities are unmatched. So you better be careful what you think about around me. And don't piss me off or I'll make your brain explode." A very obvious joke, punctuated with her giving his forehead a very light, very gentle tap with a single acrylic claw nail. Playfully Minako sticks her tongue out at him.
"Of course I'm right. All you can do is your best. But also at some point you gotta live for yourself too." It's not much of a shot in the dark to guess who's on his mind when it comes to the subject at hand. Anyone with so much as a drop of perception would pick up on the recurring detail. There's a small part of her that understands...sort of. Sometimes she can't help but wonder if Kaede would be proud of what she's done — of how far she's come. "Be your own brand of booze...your own drink."
In contemplation her face scrunches up. "Beer? Hmmm...it is a classic, I suppose. But what kind? A lager? Ale? Maybe a mead, depending on if you count that..."
" Careful ! You could poke somebody's eye out with those things. " Her nails look sharper than the knives used by family members for yubitsume. Of course, he knows Minako isn't planning to hurt him intentionally, but that still doesn't make him less scared of her claws. They look pretty, though. Weapons can look pretty.
' I don't know how to live for myself ' he wants to say, but a part of him is embarrassed at the idea of whining in front of a girl who's much younger than he is. Even though Ichiban's supposed to be the one with life experience, Minako is the real expert when it comes to reading people and giving good advice. It's a bit depressing, when he thinks about it.
" My own brand, huh. I think I've already seen an 'Ichiban' beer at the last bar we went to. I doubt that's a lawsuit I could win. " He doesn't even have the money for it. " I get it, though, don't worry. I have to make a change and start living for myself. Do you think what we're doing right now is a good start? "
"This isn't a magical girl anime, Light Yagami."
" Not with this attitude, it isn't. "
Hey guys! This year has honestly been incredibly rough year for me, I only earned about 1/4 of what I did last year through freelance jobs (As a lot of those clients sadly didn't come back this year). And so, I've mainly been surviving and paying my bills and whatnot with whatever little savings I have. Savings that are going to run out in 2-3 months, if I'm lucky...
During these past months, I have been trying other ventures, including opening a Vgen account! (<<< Place your order through here) One that still needs to be verified, BUT is open for business!
Presently, I offer:
Fully Colored Portraits (Head Bust and Hips Up)
Chibis
And I draw:
Canon and original characters
Ships of any kind (So long as they are not pro-ships)
Anthro/furry characters
Simple mech characters (IDW Transformers are as detailed as I can go)
But yeah! I know I'm not the only one dealing with financial hardships, so even just sharing this post around will mean a whole lot to me!
I also do RP Graphic Commissions here! (<<< You can see all my works here) If that is something you are more interested in!
Thank you so much in advance!!!
"Does it make you feel better?"
(To light heheheheh hahahahah hheheheheh)
&. @puzlpiece. unprompted ( but always accepting of course ).
The question annoys him as soon as it registers, and Light's only saving grace is that Near can't see the face he's making. He doesn't answer, not at first. Instead, he lets the silence stretch, just enough to hopefully make the other doubt himself. Whether or not it works is up to anyone's guess, as the so-called successor's behavior doesn't change.
" I don't know. Am I supposed to feel better? " He leans back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. It's not difficult to see that these phone calls do more harm than good. Each time the conversation ends, Light feels even more restless than he did in the beginning of the call. It feels a lot like losing and he hates it.
" You've already decided who I am, but you're wrong. " Even though they can't see each other, he changes his position so he can stare at the empty chair in front of him. " You're so stubborn. Just like he was. " Bringing up L is risky, but it's the one thing they have in common. Perhaps, this can help him get a reaction.
" Seeing people in pain doesn't make me happy. Quite the opposite. Ryuzaki- no, L knew that about me. We were friends, you know? " For a moment, it's almost like he can see the detective sitting in front of him. He disappears almost instantly, leaving Light with the phone still pressed against his ear. " I want to be your friend as well, Near. "
"Maybe so." She hums. Revered is a word with a lot of weight attached to it — saved for the divine, be it gods or the most legendary heroes. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. But Ichi, in her books, falls close into that category; doing what no one else would ever do. Never backing down even when he maybe should have. Admirable in many ways. "You know, people already look up to you. Adore you even." Rightfully so. A real exemplar just like Arvish from Elflines Online. "You might even become a legend. All you need is a drink named after you!"
A moment longer before amber gaze finally turns away from him to instead to the landscape of the park. "Can you imagine being so beloved in life for it carry over to death? To never fade away even when all that's left of you is beyond rotted? It must be nice." A dreamy sigh slips from her lips despite the slight morbidity of her statement. What does it feel like to be so loved? To be remembered? A single finger twirls a lock of umber and violet hair around.
"Your patriarch was such an inspiration to you, right? From what you've said, he sounded pretty amazing. For what it's worth, I think he'd be proud of you."
" A drink named after me, huh? That doesn't sound too bad. " He's tempted to mention Ichiban Confections, and how there already are some snacks named after him. Well, that's not entirely true, but that doesn't stop him from buying the Ichiban Rice Crackers every time he passes by the small shop. " Maybe a beer... "
A beer is fitting. It's not a complicated drink, and it gets the job done more often than not, just like Ichiban. A Minako cocktail is a different story, that's for sure. He wants to ask her about it, but the moment he makes up his mind, she brings up Arakawa. Their eyes meet, and Ichiban doesn't know what to say at first.
" Wow! Mina-chan, you could be a mind-reader. How did you know I was thinking about him? " It probably has less to do with Minako's telepathic abilities and more to do with Ichiban being easy to read. Still, he feels the need to joke about it. " You think so? I hope you're right. Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing enough to honor his legacy. "
