   Ｈｅｒ laughs seemed to always be a quality she hid from most, often covering her face as the sounds left her lips. Perhaps it was the snort that soon preceded it, or the inhumane tone the actual sound mustered. Either way, she did the same as soon as the other finished speaking; legs intertwining with the other’s as they sat in the back of her truck.

Victoria had no excuse other than wanting to make Nathan angry. Or, at least, that’s what she’d tell people. But Chloe was right there. So she’d just gone for it. Pushing her back into the shadow cast by the girl’s dorm, Victoria deepened the kiss for a brief second before pulling back and laughing. 

“Bet you weren’t expecting that?”

He might not need it to graduate, but being a sci-fi connoisseur and a lover of technology, he figures he might as well get more official and academic knowledge of a region he grew up appreciating and adoring.

                               Space... the final frontier, he thinks shamelessly as he enters the astronomy classroom on the first day.

It’s a big room, too, as most of the hundred-levels were, though it probably doesn’t seat more than fifty people. That’s just fine with him, he’s not interested in large doses of attention from the professor in this class. Not to mention it would be a bit easier to blend in. The problem is, of course, finding the perfect spot to sit. Maybe it’s just a leftover habit from high school, but even now, people tended to pick a spot and continue to use it throughout the class. So, logically, he needs to find the right one before all of the good ones are swept up.

Preferring middle and back, he moves to the appropriate row and pauses at the end of it. There are only four people already seated, but one of them looks suspiciously like a skinhead, one is fast asleep already, the third is the definition of “manspreading,” and the fourth has dyed blue hair. It’s clear what the correct decision is.

Sliding into the seat next to the blue-haired girl, Chris flashes a quick smile and pulls his textbook out.

               “Hey, is it cool if I sit here?” he asks evenly, realizing he might be stealing someone else’s seat.
