I’m thinking of taking one for the team and making a post in Suggestions throwing out the idea that it should be possible for people to request any old accounts they may have deleted. I don’t know enough about the whole Roundsey situation to guess whether G is lying or not, but the banxiety that’s arisen from all this (and countless other situations before) has made one thing very clear: we need to find a middle ground.
I submitted an ask months ago sharing my own banxiety as a result of having created multiple accounts in the past. However, I never once funneled, nor did I use them to my advantage in any way. The truth is, my neurological disorder as well as cPTSD makes it very hard to for me to remember things. When I was in high school, I dissociated for almost two years straight, and though I can vaguely recall having made an account or two, when I returned to the game years later, I had no idea their usernames, passwords, or even emails associated with such.
I’ve since gotten much better at managing my condition and take extra precautions to keep anything like that from happening again, but I live in a state of near constant banxiety as a result of these past mistakes. At this point, even if it means losing everything on my current account of several years (RIP beloved dragons, Plague Sprite, etc ^^;) and having to start all over again, it’d be worth it to out myself by way of speaking up for the community and lifting the weight off *my* chest at the very least.
So. If I decide to do this, and I think I most definitely will, are there any points y’all’d like me to include? Let me know.
