a starter for @pvrksvhee
→ saturday mornings are usually reserved for sleeping in, and for someone who stays up late for various reasons, jongin usually cashes that privilege in every weekend. however, today is just one of those days in which his body seems too active for his brain to truly follow. he wakes up before the sun is fully up in the sky, strangely decides he wants to go out for a jog, and only does so for about fifteen minutes around his side of the campus before he starts thinking about the grilled cheese sandwich he’d rather be having.
on his way back to his boarding house, he passes by the grad school bulletin board and sees multiple posts about job openings, a weekend blood drive, and a suspicious call for participants in a paid experiment by the microbiology majors. he briefly considers signing up for it before realizing that he’s missed the deadline already and, instead, returns to the blood drive flyer, weighing it out and deciding that, since he’s up and running already, he could spare a couple of hours trying to be a better person.
by the time he’s in line, he’s yawning, though, blearily looking around at the tables full of chipper doctors, nurses, and donors and wondering if he’d really felt just as energetic as they had when his morning had started. the sun is higher up in the air now, and he wipes away a fat drop of sweat that’s started trailing down the back of his neck as he sits down in front of his table, automatically holding out his arm for the nurse.
“no diabetes, no hepa, no aids, and no flu over the past few months,” he recites, as he’s heard people being questioned during the time he’d been waiting. “i’m also not pregnant nor have i recently given birth, in case you needed to know.”
