Touch Wood is a play about youths facing death. It was developed in Haresh Sharma’s playwriting workshop in 2018. I am grateful to be given the opportunity to present this Touch Wood to friends of the industry to receive feedbacks to better improve the piece.

Cassia Kaki is an Art-based community engagement project organized by ArtsWok Collaborative. 

As the participant of the Cassia Kaki Engagement team, we were mentored by Justin Lee and Ngiam Su-Lin on how to plan an arts-based community project. I am really grateful to be able to be a part of this project as I have gained more than just knowledge in project planning. I feel that the process has allowed me to hone my craft as a practitioner. I would like to thank ArtsWok Collaborative for this opportunity to as well as the stakeholder, participants and most importantly the Cassia Kaki team for allowing me to learn to each and every one of them.

Haresh Sharma Playwrighting Workshop (National Library Board) 

September 2018 - October 2018

I am honored to be a part of this workshop and be mentored by Haresh Sharma, whose work I admire the most. Other than playwrighting skills, the biggest takeaway for me was to stay grounded in the work/craft that I believe in. 

Thank you, Haresh for the amazing workshop. Alvin and Melissa for the fruitful sharing to help us understand more about the work of a Director and Dramaturg. 

As well as, NLB for organizing this workshop, providing an opportunity and platform for aspiring playwrights to learn, explore and hone our craft. 

Also not forgetting all the workshop participants for their sharing and meaningful exchanges.

Babes: Dear Nobody

May 2017 - October 2017

Dear Nobody is a Forum Theatre performance project organized by Babes (Pregnancy Crisis Support), an organization that works with pregnant teenagers. 

The Forum Theatre performance aims to raise awareness on challenges faced by teenage mother. The performance was brought to different groups of audiences (general public, youth at risk, young adults etc.). Not only was I given act, I also had the opportunity to be involved in brainstorming, directing and facilitation.

Reminiscence Theatre

October 2015 - March 2016

Reminiscence Theatre is a form of Applied Theatre that uses memories/experiences of participants to create a performance. During this project, I had the honor to work under Ms Chang Mei Yee, an Applied Drama Practitioner who has been working on multiple Reminiscence Theatre Projects in Singapore. 

Through this opportunity, I had the chance to work with elderlies in their devising, rehearsing and performance phase. It is an amazing experience to be able to work with Ms Chang Mei Yee as well as the participants of the project as I’ve got to practically apply skills learned in my Diploma course. Other than that, working with elderly is also an enriching experience that allowed me to understand the importance of intergenerational learning.

Applied Drama Workshops (Singapore Polytechnic)

Through my years in DADP, I was involved in many Applied Drama workshops out of the school curriculum. The objectives of these workshops vary from outreach, education, raising awareness and even empowering participants. 

Through this Applied Drama workshops, I gained more experience in workshop planning, facilitation skills as well as working with different communities and age group (e.g. secondary school students, blended families etc)

We Love Learning Centre

Date: May 2014 - August 2014

Project 121 is a two-phase programme designed for primary school children of the lower income family. 

The first phase consists of a 3-day drama workshop designed to empower students to take ownership in their studies. The second phase was weekly revision lessons which acted as an academic aid for children who are struggling in school.
