uhhh just gonna drop this here and run...
...cuz I gotta sleep or I’m gonna die. This is from “Cry Mercy” which is a highly emotional, but still entirely plot-less PWP I’m working on.
“If you find me so bloody ‘distracting’ then kiss me.”
Alfred had only stared at him dumbly, unable to tell at that point if he was having another one of those dreams or if it was all actually happening.
“This is a one-time offer, Jones.” Arthur had glared up at him, almost pouting. He curled his fingers around the collar of Alfred’s shirt. “Kiss me or so help you God, I’ll—”
And in that moment, Arthur had looked more beautiful than he ever had before, so Alfred had sent the consequences straight to hell and submitted to Arthur’s demand.
So had begun a relationship which Arthur refuses even now to call “friends with benefits.” “We’re not friends, Jones,” he insists every time Alfred tries to use that phrase. He won’t even consent to Alfred’s proposed substitution of “coworkers with benefits.” Instead, it’s a “mutually entertaining arrangement” in Arthur’s words, though Alfred fails to see how term mutual can possibly apply… or the word entertaining for that matter, since it feels more like torture to him.
Because, you see, the theme of the story, the part their coworkers are missing, the part that even Arthur misses is that Alfred is desperately, thoroughly, and irreversibly in love with him and that every time their intense physical intimacy collides with Arthur’s cold wall of emotional unavailability, Alfred’s heart shatters that much more.
okay bye *passes out*
