Also, this might sound dumb but I’ll put it out there: have you tried letting all the sims 3 files regenerate again? Sometimes I will save my current TS3 folder to my desktop, let the game refresh and make a whole new folder, and then put my CC, sims, saves, etc back in. Hope this helps! Good luck!

pxelface said: When you merge files, the end file size (the size of the merged package) should not be more than 200mb. Mods and counters shouldn’t be merged, get rid of many as many sims3packs as possible, having lots of mods also slows down the game (esp story progression because it’s huge).

Thank you so much everyone! You guys have certainly helped me a lot. Here’s what I did: I took out all my cc, like everything, and the game ran really smooth, the saves loaded for 5-7 minutes and cas was a pleasure to fiddle with (I even did maybe babies for my BC while I was at it!). Then I put it back, but reduced the amount of my cc from 10 to 8 gb putting only necessary stuff in. The game loaded for 35 minutes and cas now runs much faster (clothes and patterns load really quick compared to how it used to be), however I won’t stop here - I decided the main problem is my hairs. As pxelface said (I honestly had no idea before) the merged packages size should not be more than 200 mb, and my packages are around 1 gb each (and the hairs take 6 out of these 8 gb). So I guess I have no other choice than give a fresh start to my hair folder and then merge them in smaller groups. It’s hard and will probably mess up most of my sims but it needed cleaning anyway, because I have a lot of hairs by different creators, some of them even the same, and I’m tempted now to use hairs by only one creator and get rid of those I never use and don’t like. So good luck to me I guess :D Thanks again, I’m feeling much better!

@i-heart-pudding and @stephaniesim maybe sorting out cc and reducing its amount will help you like it helped me! It’s basically the only way out in this situation.

Yeah, I’ll probably do it maybe halfway through them being a teenager, to maybe get some wishes for WA, but I’ll wait to travel until they’re a young adult. Thanks for the input!!
