Promptly following the end of both pg.99 and City of Caterpillar over 12 years ago, five members Voltronically reassembled as the beast known only as Malady. Eight songs were deftly constructed and their sole album was released in late 2004, merging the intensity of their previous outfits along with a slightly more streamlined song structure and propulsive tempo. Malady's self-titled album has remained out of print for a decade, and Robotic Empire's digital-focused sibling label The Archivist is proud to now re-present the release across all main digital platforms: iTunes - https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/malady/id1157151222?app=itunes Apple Music - https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/malady/id1157151222?mt=1&app=music Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Malady/dp/B01M08GN7S Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/music/album/Malady_Malady?id=Bk2g3e4ul43qargokkm6gdgnkfm Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/album/01cgr12raMqGD2JJ38fDCj Bandcamp - https://thearchivistlabel.bandcamp.com/album/malady More info on The Archivist (and other releases from City of Caterpillar, Majority Rule, Joshua Fit For Battle and many others) can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/thearchivistlabel https://thearchivistlabel.bandcamp.com #malady #maladyband #cityofcaterpillar #pg99 #pygmylush #thearchivist
2 months have passed since the release of our third Nirvana tribute LP - a brief highlight as to why the 13 bands included were important to represent the release, completing the "Nirvana Studio Album" tribute-trifecta idea hatched so many years ago. # 11 - Big Hush. I met Chris Taylor half a lifetime ago in a basement in Sterling, Virginia. His punk band Nit-Pic blew my teenage mind, opening an entirely new world to me. Ever since I've aimed to be involved with as many of his music projects as possible. pg.99. Mannequin. Hissing Choir. Malady. Pygmy Lush. Big Hush. His great solo material. The diversity & high caliber of the music Chris Crude's been a part of is incredible. Yet to mention the striking artwork he's created for Pig Destroyer, Darkest Hour, Crestfallen, Litany For The Whale + of course, pageninetynine. I've got fond memories of driving the Taylor bros to Kinkos in the wastelands of Northern Virginia to assemble pg99 artwork. I've spent more time in vehicles with this dude & extended brethren than anyone outside of my personal family. There's no shortage of good times to reflect on, and although we're geographically far apart now, there's still a close connection to the Sterling contingent. Even after 18'ish years it's remained very important to me that this crew is represented across the main transitions that this crazy operation undergoes. Big Hush's track was a lifesaver after we got in a jam with a band bailing (again!) in the 11th hour. Crude came through with his reworked rendition of this sludgey Nirvana track, turning it into an ethereal, almost delicate yet still raw version of the song. I was doubly thrilled as he not only saved our bacon, but also completely killed it in the process. Once again, an honor to work with this immensely creative human being. "Doused in Mud, Soaked in Bleach" is available on vinyl & digitally. Anyone late to the party can order here: https://www.roboticempire.com/store https://roboticempire.bandcamp.com Thank you for reading. #dousedinmudsoakedinbleach #christaylor #chriscrude #pg99 #pageninetynine #malady #hissingchoir #pygmylush #bighush pg99 last show photo by Ryan Cleveland(? - correct me if wrong)
