2015 Convention Plans!
Starfest (Denver, CO) - April 17-19, 2015
Denver Comic Con (Denver, CO) - May 22-25, 2015
Nan Desu Kan (Denver, CO) - September 4-6, 2015
Denver Zombie Crawl - October 2015
I promised to post this and seeing as the first one for us is next week, I’d say it’s about time. No big surprises (although Starfest will be new for us) and all local cons so far. There's potential to add others (particularly towards the back-half of the year where there's not much going on around here), so if anyone has other con suggestions, lay them on me!
I made it! From bridesmaid to blaggard in 24 hours!
I think the universe was trying to tell me something all weekend because the place we had to do our hair and makeup at was called Salon Tullio, and the groomsman I was paired off with was named Nick. It was great to see my friend get married though-- she made a beautiful bride and the wedding was very nice, even if the trip itself was stressful as hell and the drive was pretty damn awful.
In the end, I'm glad I still managed to get down to NDK, if only for a few hours on Sunday to have some fun and get into some trouble as Tulio. I had a fantastic time, ran into a lot of old faces and new ones, and ended the con with my hands cuffed-- If that's not the sign of a successful con, I don't know what is.
As always, thank you to all of you that we hung out with, talked to, hugged, took pictures with, or otherwise harassed. I'll have some pictures up ASAP and hope you guys had as much fun as we did!
HOLY SHIP.

I can't even--

Seattle is amazing - I hope you two have a blast. I’ll be looking for you so I can give/receive high fives.
Thank you! We're so excited!
And yes please-- I damn well better get to high-five you in that awesome Han Solo cosplay (as well as your beautiful Leia companion) or I just may go full-Wookie and pull someone's arms out of their sockets.
We're going to Emerald City Comicon in Seattle!!
We've talked about finding an awesome out of state convention to attend for a while, but it's kind of hard to believe we're actually going to one now. The stars were in position for this con though because our schedules, budgets, and everything else worked out; so end of March, we'll be running around ECCC!
For sure we're bringing Tulio and Miguel (with plenty of gold to give away) for Saturday/Sunday, and packing Nick and Ellis to rep some Left 4 Dead 2 on Friday (with our friend, ludicrousmages who will be there as a Hunter!)
If any of you happen to go to this con, these two idiots from Denver demand high-fives. De-mand!
So after everyone had their fun making ask-box "suggestions," I realized I still owe my anon an actual answer to the, "What Disney character I can relate to the most?" question.
It's probably no real surprise that I'm going to say Megara.
She's a fiercely independent, sarcastic, and cynical character with a sharp mind and a mouth to match. She's been burned by bad decisions and misplaced trust in people and principles, and as a result, has unfortunately built up a tough-exterior of not needing anyone or anything but herself...
Also--so sue me--but when Hercules came out, I was pretty thrilled to see a Mediterranean lady with some full, curly hair and curves in the Disney line-up, so the fact that she had a need-no-rescue and take-no-shit personality to match was too-good-to-be-true for me.
