05/07/2024-Bull, hogweed, Goldfinch, view, pyramidal orchid and Greylag Goose goslings at Lakeside Country Park at lunch time.
On walks at lunch time and this evening Chiffchaff and Greenfinch heard, Magpie, Collared Dove, stunning close views of a male Tufted Duck, Great Crested Grebe, Moorhen, delightful Marbled White butterflies, Meadow Brown, lady's bedstraw, pale yellow-eyed grass, evening primrose, knapweed, hemp agrimony in the rain, great willowherb, purple loosestrife and spear thistle were other highlights. Loads of snails on the balcony with one seen at Lakeside too and Magpie, Jackdaw and Goldfinch were nice sightings at home today.
We're very pleased to see two new orchids on our Urban Meadow.
Bee Orchid and Pyramidal Orchid have both made a welcome mid-summer appearance.
