finally got around to starting Geoff John's Green Lantern run and I have thoughts...

SPOILERS FOR GEOFF JOHN'S GREEN LANTERN ! ! !

Hal referring to his power ring as his "emerald girl" and using she/her pronouns when referencing it is so dear to me.

The artists did such an amazing job portraying just how parasitic and invasive Parallax really is, like genuine chills when he shows up

The Hal characterization in this is fantastic 🤌 He's confident while having the intelligence to back it up (also I really adore Hal's pupils being in the shape of the green lanterns power battery, so many amazing details in the art)

watching Hal get back his spark and confidence in himself was so rewarding, I love this panel so much

I love how Kyle's constructs are shown as him mentally sketching them out with his ring. It's such a cool detail and it really showcases how his mind works and how much his art influences how he sees the world.

Hal rocking Bruce's shit was hilarious and well deserved

Oliver talking shit while actively bleeding out and knocking on deaths door is elite Green Arrow characterization ✨

I'm only on the issue: "The Gathering" rn (or pg. 189 in the Omni) so I'm sure I'll have many more thoughts on this series but overall I've throughly enjoyed it and I'm excited to read more.

I just started reading JLI and my hand is twitching for a shoe to smack Guy with every other page. I wouldn’t even need a shoe, hell give me a crowbar, or a fridge, or Joe Chill’s gun.

I could make do with anything as long as he gets something smacked into him.

I’m running on the assumption that he’s going to get some character development or at least get more comfortable with the group (…right?) but until that happens I’m stuck with him as is and suffering 😔 (and laughing, cus as much as he annoys me I can admit he's a little funny)

I’ve read some GL comics and I know he’s an asshole but I don’t remember him being nearly as irritating or bullheaded?? I actually kinda liked him in those comics so I’m a little taken aback by how much I don’t like him rn????
