Just realized that Guy Gardener talking about how did is "against his vow" in Superman, is a pretty interesting version of The Noodle Incident trope, because it contains dramatic irony.

For those who know what the Green Lantern Oath is, we know exactly why Guy is not helping and/or full of shit.

But it doesn't ruin the experience for those who don't know stuff about the Green Lanterns. All we know is he's using this "vow" as his reason why he won't help.

I think it helps that no one else in the movie knows what this vow is.

Its "you and I remember Budapest very differently" but it's us saying "you and I remember that vow very differently" to Guy
