A magician.

A stage.

And a firestarter.

It was all that was needed to set the mood as crowds of people watched upon the newest show to hit New York. A fresh-faced young man from England, William Carter stepped into the spotlight, a smile on his face.

“Thank you, thank you! I’m so happy to see you all here! And I would like to introduce to you all my newest assistant, Willow!”

The spotlight moved, and to the person that was also standing on the stage, was a peculiar brunette young woman with twin tails. With the magician’s words, the attention all moved towards her.

      He needed to figure things out. That was for sure--- everything he could possibly know had been told to him though, right...? No. There had to be something more to Hive city. How else would he had ended up here out of nowhere? Not... The strangest thing, really. 

      Besides not being able to figure this place out, the man was rather... Frustrated he couldn’t figure the people out-- gauge them well. It felt horrible to not be able to get a good read on well... Anyone just yet.

      “So, what’chu know ‘bout things round here?” The Cajun finally speaks up, spotting the woman with pig tails and sliding up next to her, deciding striking up a conversation would be the best way to start around here. “You get an uncomfortable feelin’ too, or s’at just me?”

It’s beyond what she’s used to, but Willow lets out a small wheeze as she catches her breathing. “I’m good, okay, I’m good. Don’t go, please.”

A heavy, uncertain frown hangs from Hanzo’s lips as he listens to her. Silence takes him for a few calculative heartbeats, gaze flitting away from the woman’s own, before he finally sighs.

“What ... happened?”

“here happy hallowween  also ivve got a question since youre a human and this is SUPPOSED to be a human holiday is there an order youre supposed to do treatin and trickin or do you treat people you like and trick people you think are gross  tried lookin it up but my phone died turns out the ones wwith fruit on the back havve no battery life”

The night is quiet so far. Well - as quiet as a large party such as this can possibly be. There has been no trouble that he has caught wind of just yet. A favorable circumstance in an otherwise unfavorable setting.

Why did he take the job if all of his inner monologue was merely complaints?

There is a beacon in the evening, however, and that would be spotting someone familiar amidst a sea of otherwise unfamiliar and strange faces. Hanzo admittedly feels a bit excited when he spots Willow, out of the thick of the crowd and easily accessible. Carefully, he winds his way toward her, subtly waving a partially-gloved hand to catch her attention.

“Willow.” A ghost of relief trails behind her name. Hanzo nods his head in greeting. “Are you enjoying yourself?”
