WHAT GETS RILEY EXCITED | hc meme.
okay, so, for as calm as he is riley is super excitable – and most of the things that excite him are simple. they include: desserts, a bookstore or library, sugary breakfasts, hot chocolate, bonfires, when the first leaf falls, when he’s really into a conversation and someone actually listens, cats of any kind, when someone takes the time to cook for him, the idea of a really, really long lazy nap, and rainy days. he loves thunderstorms. he also gets stupidly excited for all the fun aspects of halloween – ghost hunting marathons, bobbing for apples, haunted houses, pumpkin patches, hayrides, dressing up and trick or treating. he’s an excellent pumpkin carver and he gets so excited when it’s time to pull the tools out. it also excites him to see someone genuinely happy, like whereas he can cause decay ( literally rot organic matter ) witnessing and absorbing a form of life he can’t destroy is reassuring. even when he’s older and less inclined to take a visible childish approach, these things still give him a huge source of joy. and, along the lines of halloween activities, this pretty much goes for any holiday-centered activity, including those for thanksgiving (he loves thanksgiving), christmas, new years, so on and so forth. despite his dislike for summer, he even enjoys fourth of july. he’s a recluse, sure, but it really pleases him when people just gather and relax. and, y’know, cook for him. also new art supplies because I’m 500% sure he sketches.
