Are the maidens also in the cloudwalker au? If so what happened to Amber? I feel really rude/intrusive in asking so many questions but you're au is amazing.
Nah, it’s not rude, thank you! :’D
Ehhhhh I’m gonna level with you all and say that the seasonal maiden powers aren’t a thing- but I do like the actual characters designed for the Maiden stuff and whatnot, so they exist (like the original four benevolent women)
Also Amber is too good of a character to not have in the AU so she’s definitely in it
Is a war veteran, and comrade of Summer’s!
Grew up near the outside of the territories, and traveled/moved in when she was grown up.
Learned some of what she knows about melee combat from the Amazon society in the north (the same society Pyrrha is from)
She’s mostly proficient in arcane fighting and stuff (like Ozpin, Glynda, and Summer)
And she’s deadly with hand-to-hand combat.
Seriously, if you’re fighting her when she’s not using her staff, YOU DUN FUCKED UUUUUP
In this AU, Amber’s semblance is plantmancy, to allude to her maiden powers in canon- BUT IT’S NOT THE SAME THING BECAUSE:
Considering the fact that almost every other major plant in the AU has aura surging in it, and THOSE plants bend to the willpower of NORMAL people??? She is SUPER POWERED
So basically the excess Aura that comes from trees in the environment around her surges through her body and OUT OF HER FISTS
Her staff actually served as a limiter for her semblance and aura because despite how well trained she is, it’s still hard to control without a medium to put the excess energy into, and feed back to the environment around her
Like I said though, not ALL trees have Aura flowing through them, but the territories have enough Aura Trees that it’s literally a part of their way of life and infrastructure
She was left seriously maimed after fighting Cinder alongside Summer, and probably wouldn’t be alive if Summer hadn’t saved her life.
Cinder did the smart thing, and lured Amber to the wasteland to kick her ass (the same wasteland she found Emerald in decades later)
Summer saved Amber, at the expense of her left eye, and Amber feels eternally indebted to her
She’s still alive though and has near-master knowledge about the inner workings of Aura Trees, and how they work, because of how deeply her semblance connected her with them.
When she meets Pyrrha, she instantly recognizes her attire, and chats it up with her
Which is funny because you have the girl who is completely out of her element, and the girl who is oversaturated in her element
