52 Escapes (2/52): Classic Foods + A Pyromusical Night

Right now, while most of the people are probably out and celebrating the Sinulog Festival along the streets of Cebu, I am munching on my butter coconut biscuits while doing blog works. It’s been a few days since I last whipped up something interesting for my blog, and I have my upcoming exams to blame for that. Anyway, on to my second week for this 52 Project! :-)

Relishing relationships

January 17th was our 29th month together and I couldn’t be any prouder for our small achievement towards the (hopefully) rest of our lives together. For this month we decided to have a double date with Marnel’s parents who treat me just like a daughter next to their son. Since it was the eve of Sinulog, there were fireworks activities being held at SM City Cebu, so we drove out there at around 4PM but unfortunately the parking slots were full to the point that we were the last to fill a spot.

The mall was basically buzzing here and there, plus Kapuso artists from the cast of Second Chances on a show, so you could visualize how crazy it was back there. Xian Lim was there, too! We did a little bit of store hopping before proceeding to have dinner, which was a time-consuming decision because every restaurant/food chain is, like I said, basically buzzing.

Classic Savory

This restaurant serves classic dishes in both Filipino and Chinese cuisine. Its history has long been present back during the World War II. It is famous for their tender and juicy chicken, which I could gladly testify was superb during our meal! Their lomi was a satisfaction to our stomach because its soup just has the right amount of salt and spices. I am definitely digging their food here!

PyroSPECTACULAR

Another spectacular evening filled with colorful skies made it into one of my favorite scenes this year. The way fireworks just light up the sky simply thrill me, and there was much beauty in this I cannot fathom. It was way too beautiful for words, and this time, I was able to see them very up close. There was no voice in me then, just sheer amazement. My eyes sparkled! PYROFEST 7, the fireworks competition held by SM City Cebu, displayed such amusement last night and our city won!

The finale that night was a 3-minute teaser by PYROWORKS #LightUpTheSky, wherein the full 10-minutes display would shake the hearts of many for tonight in Sinulog. You can watch the video by SM City Cebu HERE.
