This is super old. I don’t even remember how old. This is supposed to be Pyx, but idkk mannn, things have changed a lot since then.

Omg... this took me 5 days of nonstop practice/trying, adjusting my teams, and leveling up new characters. I’m still fucking shaking. But holy shit, I did it.

Details/ramblings under the cut

Floor 12-3 is SUPER difficult. I only just started being able to consistently clear the first half, but struggled on the second half. My original team of Xinyan, Razor, Barbara, and Chongyun just wasn’t doing it, mostly because Barbara always got frozen and Chongyun has anti-synergy with Razor and Xinyan. I eventually began working on leveling Bennett, and I got him to level 70 alright. He immediately replaced Barbara as my healer, but Bennett by himself still wasn’t that great on my team. I eventually decided I needed a secondary healer and probably more shields to deal with the cryogunner fatui... and who fits that bill exactly? None other than the adorable Diona.

I got Diona to level 50 today, and figured I should at least try the spiral abyss again. I get some pretty decent benedictions/blessings today: Attack 20%, the sprinting one, and the delicious crit rate/crit damage on the final floor. First two floors go fairly smoothly, as I’ve gotten used to them (still can’t 3 star 12-1, but I’ll get there someday I’m sure). First half of 12-3 goes about how it normally does at this point. I finish with a little more than 5 minutes on the clock... I’d like a little more time, but I press on to the second half. Most of my team in the 2nd half are around 2/3 health or lower and don’t have their Q charged up due to poor managing of resources on 12-2, so I’m already in a bad position. Eventually, my main healer, Bennett, goes down. But I’d already managed to kill the electrohammer fatui, and the cryogunner is also almost down. Plus, if I’m in a pinch, I have my level 50 Diona, right?

The next minute or so of combat is just a rush of adrenaline. I spam Xinyan and Diona’s shields as much as possible to mitigate any damage I take and trying to charge up Diona’s Q. I never actually get her Q charged up, though. The cryogunner goes down, and I’m left with the geochanter at around half health with its shield up. No biggie, I have two claymore users. I check the time. Barely over a minute left, and all 3 of the characters left in my party are in the red. One good hit, and any of them could go down. I bring up Xinyan’s shield to give Razor that burst to phys dmg, and then use Razor’s burst for one last hurrah.

Then, on the screen, with 34 seconds left:

Challenge Completed.

I sit back in my chair, finally breathing normally again. Holy fuck. I can’t believe it actually happened. I beat floor 12 with a completely sub-optimal team.

Well, next time, it won’t be as bad, right?
