Q Branch Productivity Hours
Come hang out with other Fest friends as we try to encourage each other to be productive! Probably will include some sprints of varying lengths, and some hanging out in voice chat just talking about what we're meant to be working on.
This will be happening on July 12th from noon to 2pm central US time. (See calendar to convert) and will be in the WIP stream on discord.
Think of it like a condensed Saturday Cafe with a bonus opportunity to earn points for attending an event.

I have close to 200 Bond works and I didn't have a good way of picking which ones to reflect on, so I'm doing superlatives.
Longest: Living in the Pages of an Ian Fleming Novel
Freddie Lyon had always wanted to be a spy, and now here he was as MI6's quartermaster. But keeping both his agents alive and his past identity secret while remaining sane is not the easiest thing. With terrorist attacks, undercover missions, discreetly helping The Hour, and general Q branch shenanigans, let the fun never end.
This was such a fun story to write. It was my NaNoWriMo for 2015 and I think the first one that I actually finished. I also got some advice from a local writer whose husband used to do broadcasting. I'm pretty sure a lot of the OCs I still use in Bond fiction were created for this story first.

Oh this was an acrostic poem. Honestly still happy with how coherent it is despite the restrictions.

In which Bond needs to pretend to be dating for a dinner on a mission and finds it harder than expected.
A fun little ficlet of Bond having to pretend to be dating Moneypenny while actually going steady with Q. I don't really remember writing it, but here it is.

Moneypenny looks back on the moment when she decided not to become a double-oh agent.
This is a very recent one and it was also my 300th work on AO3! It was a fun little thing in Eve's pov. ... And I just spotted a typo. Dangit.
Most kudos: Lost and Found
Prompt: What if there is a team of field agents in Q Branch whose job is to follow Double Ohs around and retrieve the equipment that get “lost” or destroyed? And because they have to go into the chaos left behind by the Double Ohs, they have to be just as good if not better than Double Ohs? How would Bond react to finding out that every Q used to be a part of that team?
Okay so I still think of this one every so often. Especially when watching the movies and seeing Bond haphazardly throw stuff. I love the headcanon that Q used to be a part of this retrieval team because it shows his competence and offers a possible reason why he is so good at directing agents in the field.
Least kudos: Overheard
The Duchess Severine is being sent to China to help settle an agreement, but there have been threats. The two secret services must work together to ensure her safety on the trip. They have detailed plans for the escort mission, but their plans do not include being overheard.
I remember this being fun to write. Villains and one-off agents are both fun POVs. And it is fun to write the heroes loosing every once in a while.

Clarence told me to keep a blog during my first week in Q branch. Not for sharing, no way. This was the Secret Service I was going to work for. But for myself, to look back and laugh at in a few months.
Ah yes, the story where I learned how not to draft posts on ao3. I thought I was being so smart, but instead I accidentally ended up posting chapters in the wrong order. Whoops. But people still enjoyed it.

Each chapter is a different historical AU to fill the prompt table for 007 fest.
There's a few of mine which have no comments, but this one is the fewest non-zero and I enjoyed writing them. I remember the historical AU table being a really fun prompt table that year and I think I made one of these a time traveling story? Anyway, do check it out.
Underrated series: London International Spy Adventures
London International Spy Adventures is a company where ordinary people can pretend to be a spy. Whether it's for a day or a weekend mission, this company sets up fake missions and ensures their clients feel just the right amount of thrills anad danger. Well, the right amount unless the people at MI6 are using this company for a cover for a real mission. It's a fun weekend for Q and a headache for Bond, but ultimately the mission still is accomplished.
Okay this one is just for me because I had a lot of fun writing this series and creating silly reasons for Bond to rely on non-professionals and I want more people to know about it.

Thankfully this time, when Q asked me to do some work for this big team-building week or whatever, he had the decency to offer a bonus with it. I still don't know what this all entails, but I'm getting the impression no one does.
