Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?

Alexis Hall and Kate Clayborn are two new romance authors that I’m eagerly waiting for more works from. I also didn’t discover Becky Chambers this year but I did discover that I would die for her, which is very similar. 

Did you get into any new genres?

Thanks to Amelia, I read the first books of The Shadow Campaigns by Django Wexler, which are the first military fantasies I’ve ever read. The battle scenes in these books are genuinely so exciting and so well explained that I know hubristically believe I understand marching formation of the Napoleonic era but also with demons. Also, waaaaaaaaaaay more lesbian and full of Gender Stuff than you’d expect! Good! 

(so I guess I didn’t get into the genre as much as I got into Django Wexler...) 

What reading goals do you have for next year?

I’m torn between moving away from number of books as a metric for success versus going WHOLE HOG BABY 2021 IS THE YEAR I FINALLY READ 200 BOOKS IN A YEAR!!!

Colin Firth!

So, after I read that post properly, I’ve been playing this game wrong and just naming ONE of my favorite films. Ah well. I’m gonna continue on with my misunderstanding.

For Colin, my favorite movie with him in it? Kingsman.

I like most of Colin’s Firth’s movies, but of course this one is my favorite. I will say he was great in the Brigette Jones movies, but Kingsman. I mean...because it’s fucking Kingsman and that Kentucky church scene where he just goes MENTAL? Yes. Not to mention I had seen other movies with Colin in them and when I watched that scene? I was like...is this the same man?

The best possible situation is that anon thinks Vampire Chronicles is an upcoming installment of Harry Potter, because frankly I am 200% here for Lestat going to Hogwarts and at this point Anne Rice would probably write it.

I always made the comparison that yes, I like kids, but I also really like giraffes and no one thinks I should be responsible for one of THOSE full time.
