APIRG SUPPORTs: qmunity league POV/GLAM DANCE PARTY AND FUNDRAISER, JUNE 1st!!!

Join qmunity league yet again for a fantastic night of dancing, crafts and anti-oppressive awesomeness!!

This is a special event to RAISE $$ for an amazing woman working with less privileged women in poverty. Please help us give her a pay check for volunteering full time hours every week building and supporting community programs.

The theme is POV-GLAM (fabulous on a tight budget)! MASQUERADE BALL (hint hint to our craft of the night) and GLITTER GALORE!

VOLUNTEER WITH QMUNITY LEAGUE

  qmunity league is hosting a dance party JUNE 1st to help raise money for an amazing community worker. the POV//GLAM (poverty glam) dance party will critically engage with poverty in queer community in fun and enjoyable ways.

    QMUNITY LEAGUE COLLECTIVE is a collection of folks who want to constructively contribute to the long history of building queer community on Plains Cree and Blackfoot territories

  We believe that it is possible to create spaces where fun, excitement and joy are synonymous with gentle, critical, encouraging and anti-oppressive practice. To foster this connection, we believe it is critical that anti-oppressive ideas are put into action. As such, we explicitly recognize that oppression, discrimination, violence and abuse are perpetrated by individuals within our communities whom we may know, love and share anti-oppressive ideologies with. We acknowledge that as long as oppressive systems exist, their traces may find their way into our collective, events, and our actions. We have a responsibility to care for each other, while holding each other accountable

  We are interested in holding a wide variety of events with a complex engagement with accessibility; we hope to create open and safer spaces for new ideas and relationships to form by centering marginalized voices and listening. We are interested in making connections with each other and community initiatives already underway and hope our events foster and maintain bonds between people.

our next meeting for planning the pov-glam dance party will be 6-7:30pm on monday april 15th in stanley a. milner library, SE corner by the magazine racks.

we will check in on progress toward planning the party and ensure that we're well on our way toward another unforgettable evening!

and don't forget to mark off june 1st in your calendars, because that's when all this magic will come together!

TODAY: MEETING TO PLAN THE NEXT DANCE PARTY/COLLABORATION!!

thursday march 28th, 6-8pm @ stanley a milner library 

on the main floor, south-east corner by the magazine racks

help us start to put together the next dance party, happening some time in may.

we’ll need help with all parts of organizing and execution, and can always use more humans to help!

whether you have been to all of the parties or none of the parties, we’d love to have you join us in creating positive, healthy, and safer spaces in which to get our groove on.

no organizing experience? no problem: we’re fun and rad and love to show others the ropes!

and just think, the more humans we have to organize with us, the more often we can throw these little soirées — just saying!
