Like I said on Twitter, I saw quartz and tang do art for Kira’s birthday and I wanted to do some too cause she inspired me to do comics and she meant a lot to me

y'know what, most songs about Apocalypse tend to fuck me up, but nothing does it quite like hopscotch by pinc louds.

1) the music is fantastic but i can't convey that through text post so go listen to it

2) the music video is WILD i love it

3) i wasnt even raised christian why do i feel betrayed by the christian god? anyway

7) ESPECIALLY THAT LAST LINE it kills me every time, the lead singer (claudi love)'s voice is doing this descending scale over and over and she sounds so sad and desperate but also resigned in a way? and UGH pls pls pls listen to it

9) and then there's some groaning and cool piano shit and PLS GO LISTEN TO IT

10) I only know pinc louds at all because qozxe (the creator of my favorite webcomic, Something You Want) put Soul in My Body on one of her playlists. At time of posting it's may 22nd, and the day she passed away two years ago (which still doesnt feel right. its like i lost a year, but i guess pretty much everyone did). I actually had really mixed feelings on pinc louds for ages because i got my friend into them and then she played their music nonstop, which, on one hand, yay great music! but on the other hand, it reminded me of qozxe. So nowadays I have a really strong emotional attachment to pinc louds and it's my duty to introduce them to as many people as possible Hopscotch is my favorite, then Soul in my Body, then Speak to Me Dead go listen go listen go listen

Hello friends, for those who don't know me, my name is Kira H. I’m a self-employed piano teacher, and author of the webcomic @somethingyouwant​ . About 6 months ago, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer - specifically Renal Cell Carcinoma of the XP-11 translocation subtype. This subtype of cancer is rare, highly aggressive, and difficult to treat. I have had my entire right kidney removed, and have just been taken off of my immunotherapy trial due to the speed and severity that my cancer had spread. I am now paying for my treatment commercially, and have also been unable to work due to the pain that my cancer causes me.

So! I have set up a YouCaring to help with medical and living costs as I move through this difficult time in my life. I have already received so much love and support from friends, family, acquaintances, and even total strangers, and I am so, so grateful for everything everyone has done for me so far.

I do believe that I will be able to beat this cancer someday, and I will keep pushing forward until I do. Thank you so much, I love you all 💕
