Happy QPR Day of Visibility to all who celebrate! 🖤🩶🤍🩷💛 This is my partner and I's first year taking part. We spent multiple years trying to find Names for what we have, from friends to best friends to muses to platonic soulmates to family, we kept alternating titles and....none of them felt "wrong" but none of them felt, Complete either. We chose not to pay it much mind, if linguistics wasn't up to what we had so be it. Skill Issue, L English, "secret third thing" as you might say etc. We kept going, planning our future together, a shared home, a shared life, cooking for each other in rotations, going on silly adventures on the weekends, taking care of each other when sick, healing and growing side by side, etc. It's a future we have both been wanting and dreaming about for nearly two years now, basically ever since the first time I stayed a week with them. More recently we came across the definition of a QPR and realized it fit us, really well. We are both aroace, our relationship is neither sexual nor romantic. It's very firmly platonic. But it's also a relationship that has "outgrown" a ""standard"" friendship. We emotionally prioritize one another, spend every moment we can together, move through life as a team, we make big decisions as a pair, enjoy platonic physical intimacy, want to build a future and grow old together, and feel we are two parts of the Same Heart. I carry them in my soul everywhere I go and vice versa. being able to say "My Partner" in a QPR way feels SO nice and so Right and it makes me so happy [and I know they feel the same!] we have both been so looking forward to getting to celebrate each other and our bond today, And we can't wait for many many more!
