I’ve been obsessed with Korean food for the past several months (NOT related to my love for Korean idols, I swear to god this is not some koreaboo shit). Every time my mom and I go out to eat Korean, I always order sundubu jjigae. It’s my absolute FAVE thing to eat and I never get tired of it!
03 - who would you consider your best friend on tumblr?
I don’t really have “best friends” irl or online because I consider all my closest friends to be just that: “close” friends and not “best” friends. But if we’re talking tumblr, then I’d have to say @jiminnieyah, the other half of the ‘97NoBra Squad, who has a cute face and lots of interesting stories <3
what i meant to say was, happy birthday you beautiful creature omfg i love you soooooooo much and ur so pretty and nice wow i hope u have a gr8 day and get ur bday wish :-)

Jungkook slinks past the video rental store, not-at-all subtly staring through the thin glass that separates him from a boy – who he's pretty sure is the only employee because he's never seen another human behind the counter – bobbing along to something inaudible.
"Just go talk to him. You're so creepy," Namjoon interrupts Jungkook's train of thought, which consists mostly of, 'how cute', 'I wonder what he's listening to', 'if we dated would he let me rent videos for free', and then, after that last one, 'wait, isn't that just a library?'.
"It's not creepy," Jungkook argues, momentarily forgetting that he's talking to Namjoon when the head of a small dog appears at the edge of the counter, unable to jump high enough, and the cashier's mouth opens wide in what Jungkook can only assume is a happy laugh, "I'm just looking. Absently. Not at anything."
"Sure," laughing, Namjoon flicks Jungkook lightly, right in the temple, "You've definitely got something absent."
Jungkook mumbles unintelligably until Namjoon stops laughing, looking away from the storefront to save face. Just before they walk out of view, getting closer to the bakery, Jungkook glances back to catch one last glimpse of the cutest boy, nodding his head enthusiastically to an unheard sound, promising himself (and Namjoon, but, not out loud, because Namjoon loves nothing more than to say 'I told you so' and Jungkook is goddamn tired of it) that he'll go talk to him. Soon. Within the week. By the end of the month, for sure.
He barely keeps his word. Two weeks pass before Jungkook has both the time and the courage to nudge open the door to the video rental store.
He's not really sure why the store is there. In the two years he's worked as a cashier a block away, he's seen exactly nine customers inside the shop, and he's doubtful of how busy it could get during his usual six to four shifts selling pastries. The only person who seems to work there is the boy that he's been silently eyeing for fourteen months, ever since he saw him outside the shop, carefully shoveling the snow off the pavement outside not only his store but those on both sides of him, many of them owned by elders, humming brightly with his cheeks, nose and ears stained red by the cold air.
Jungkook almost talked to him that time, to offer his gloves and maybe a free cup of coffee from the bakery, maybe to tell him he liked the song that the boy was humming, or to see if he could help with the shoveling. But, Jungkook was barely nineteen and shy and nerves got the best of him.
Now, over a year later, he's ready.
Sort of.
Almost.
'Ready', as in he's shuffling around behind tall shelves, nine feet away from where the lone employee is, as usual, playing around with whatever he can find on the counter. Every fifty seconds, Jungkook will take a step around the shelves with the intent of saying 'hello' only to scramble into another aisle when the cashier glances up and starts to smile.
Jungkook is as far away from the door as he can be, dramatically holding his hands over his fast beating heart while planning his escape when a bright, low voice shocks him into yelping, "Hey!"
He barely hears the boy, directly behind him, asking if he needs help with anything. Rushing, Jungkook grabs two cases from the shelf in front of him and whirls around to drop them in the hands of the cute video store boy that he's been trying to talk to and avoiding with equal intensity for half an hour.
"These," he squeaks, clearing his throat heavily as a blush spreads across the back of his neck. Carefully, his voice returned to it's normal register, Jungkook says, feigning nonchalance,"These. I want to rent these."
The boy, who Jungkook finally notices has a small, worn, dirty, piece of metal pinned to the pocket of his shirt that says "Taehyung" in faint lettering, stares down at his requested movies. Jungkook bites his tongue against making a sarcastic joke about name tag quality.
Taehyung shifts his gaze rapidly between the movies and Jungkook's face, scrutinizing him in a way that makes Jungkook, briefly, preen.
And then, he asks, laughter caught in his throat, "Are you even old enough to watch this?" It's only then that Jungkook, finally, looks at where his hiding place was located. The sign hanging above the section reads "19+".
The blush comes back, fiercely, and it takes every ounce of Jungkook's concentration to keep his indifferent façade, "Of course," he murmurs, unable to look Taehyung in the face, "I'm nearly twenty one, thank you very much."
Taehyung still asks for his ID at the counter, and he doesn't stop laughing at Jungkook even after he's got his adult videos tucked away into a thick brown bag and is so embarrassed he's thinking he might actually combust.
"Do you think I could get away with never going in there again?" Jungkook asks the next night, the dark cases staring at him from Namjoon's coffee table. Similarly to Taehyung, Namjoon and Yoongi had begun laughing as soon as Jungkook mumbled that he'd ended up in the porn section and hadn't stopped for several minutes following Jungkook's regretful retelling.
"You have to return the movies eventually," Yoongi reminds him.
Jungkook sighs loudly, dropping heavily against the back of the couch, "I always knew I'd have to take up a life of crime."
Simultaneously, Namjoon smacks him in the stomach and Yoongi snorts. Jungkook's busy whining at Namjoon, but he thinks he might hear Yoongi telling him to "shut the fuck up".
"Just go back," Jungkook blanches at Namjoon's suggestion, "It'll give you an excuse to actually talk to him."
The night carries on as most do. Jungkook is unnecessarily dramatic. Namjoon gives terrible advice. Yoongi calls them both idiots and says he's going to find better friends even though they all know he never will.
Unlike most nights, Jungkook actually listens to Namjoon. Two days after his half-joking decision to quit his job and go into hiding, his courage returns.
His resolve is strong, this time. He's got it all planned out. He's going to walk in. He's going to drop the videos into the return. He's going to go get another movie (a comedy, this time). He's going to bring it to the counter and he's going to smile, he's going to flirt, gently, and he's going to make Taehyung remember him as the cute boy who works down the street and not the weird kid who snuck around his video store only to buy pornos. Then, he's going to walk out with his head held high and leave Taehyung counting the minutes until he brings back his newest rental.
Jungkook succeeds only to step three. He made it inside, he dropped the videos into the return bin. The sound of videos dropping into an empty bucket caught the attention of both the small beagle resting at the legs of Taehyung's stool and Taehyung himself. When he turned to check the videos back in, Jungkook offered what he believed to be his most alluring grin. The way Taehyung tipped his head to watch Jungkook with a confused expression made him think it didn't have quite the affect he'd been going for.
Step three went well. He'd ask Namjoon for a recommendation before hand so he'd have a set goal to guide him through the store and Namjoon had asked for some new English film he wanted to watch. It only took Jungkook a minute of browsing to find exactly what he wanted.
At step four, everything fell apart. The moment Jungkook stepped up to the counter, Taehyung looked at him with such attention that it made Jungkook feel embarrassed. All through Jungkook's transaction, Taehyung wore a small, teasing smile.
Jungkook was too busy staring at Taehyung's mouth, the set of his lips, to bother with conversation or flirting.
Taehyung handed over a thin plastic bag, this time, letting his fingers brush over Jungkook's in a way that must have been on purpose, and said, "Were you... satisfied, with your last two movies?"
Jungkook did not speak to Taehyung. He did not make Taehyung remember him as anything but the weird kid who bought pornos. He did not exit gracefully with his head held high, leaving Taehyung wanting more.
He sprinted out of the store, nearly dropping Namjoon's comedy three times in the short distance from the counter to the door, a red flush covering his entire face and Taehyung loud, pleased laughter following him all the way out.
The third time Jungkook rented a video, it was some artsy bullshit that Yoongi wanted to watch on a date, and when Jungkook tried to tell him to go get it himself, Yoongi began to monologue about what a favor he was doing for Jungkook, how he was truly rooting for Jungkook's sad love life, how ungrateful Jungkook was that he had such a kind, and thoughtful hyung, until Jungkook agreed to go just to shut him up.
The third time Jungkook rented a video, he was too afraid of what Taehyung might say to him, he didn't even bother to speak. In the end, there was no teasing, no laughter, only soft smiles and pleasant "enjoy the movie"s and "it's due back in four days"s.
In the third week, when Jungkook actually bothered to choose something for himself, he ends up having a real conversation with Taehyung. He still embarrasses himself, after a whole ten minute discussion about an actor that he and Taehyung find out they both like, by asking in awe how Taehyung knows his name only for Taehyung to, as is becoming routine, laugh happily at him and remind him of their first meeting when Taehyung was forced to check his identification.
Each time Jungkook returns for a new movie, they talk longer and longer. By the eighteenth movie, Jungkook is leaning against the counter, arguing intently about pokemon when an alarm blares from Taehyung's pocket and he tells Jungkook it's time to close, he'll have to leave.
Past the twentieth movie, Jungkook isn't even watching them anymore. His rentals have become nothing more than an excuse to return to the shop, to see Taehyung again, and no matter how much he comes to know about Taehyung and his favorite foods and his least favorite books and his childhood and his parents and the girl he dated in primary school and the first time he saw a porno movie and why he's in his early twenties and practically owns a rental store when no one (except Jungkook and several old couples) rents movies because everyone knows how to stream and download, these days, Jungkook is always too scared to ask for more, for Taehyung's number or if they're friends yet or if Taehyung wants to hang out after work, one day, or maybe go on a date.
Taehyung asks him, every night, how was the most recent movie, and every night Jungkook makes his best guess based on the title and the summary on the back of the case to reply.
For a week, he thinks he must be so lucky, because Taehyung always nods and agrees that he liked that part too, or shrugs and says he hasn't seen it, but maybe he'll take Jungkook's recommendation.
And then, two months after making a goddamn fool of himself, Jungkook does it again.
"How was the movie?" Taehyung asks, not even looking up from the inventory spread out in front of him as Jungkook walks in after work with a small bag of muffins to share.
Jungkook doesn't even remember what movie he rented as he tosses the blank case into returns, and says something offhand about the monsters being really well made.
"Monsters?" Taehyung asks, and Jungkook nods, reiterating that they looked so realistic. Confidence is key.
Taehyung catches him in the lie, "You rented a romantic comedy."
"I... y-yes," Jungkook agrees, stuttering, "I... did. It. The comedy, part. You know. Monsters. Haha. Monsters at a wedding! Can you believe that? So hilarious."
Taehyung gives him that look, the same look that he gave Jungkook the first night when Jungkook rented two pornos at random that he never even bothered to watch, that long, intense look of suspicion, and Jungkook's ready with excuses, but it turns out he doesn’t need them.
Instead of laughing, this time, Taehyung smiles fondly and reaches across the counter. Thinking he's grabbing for the muffins, Jungkook drops the bag. Instead, Taehyung takes Jungkook's hand in his, and squeezes it tightly.
"Instead of renting a bunch of movies you aren't going to watch," Taehyung starts, voice light and a little nervous, "Why don't I take you out to a movie?"
It takes Jungkook roughly forty seconds to process that he is being asked on a date, but, once he does, his hand tightens around Taehyung's and he says, "Only if I can give you a goodnight kiss."
