Watching ppl talk about the "player's" motivation for doing the weird route makes me almost batty. Yeah it would be weird for the route to hinge on some specific motive the game assumes of you, wouldn't it. It would be impossible for the Video Game to know what you're thinking. Something that significant would have to come from a fictional character which can be ascribed motives in the narrative. I wonder which character would provide the motive for weird route. Who could it possibly be.
liveblog moments from yours truly
Been wanting more and more to make a depiction of a "Susie learning about the SOUL"-type situation that depicts the SOUL as being a part of Kris. A lot of takes miss the mark for me when the Idea is that Kris has some foreign body controlling them (especially so when Susie is mad at Kris about it). Which makes no sense cause it requires either a) the SOUL being external to Kris, somehow, and/or b) a diegetic player proxy, neither of which make any sense when examined with any scrutiny...
I'd much prefer the opposite angle, where Susie sees this very vulnerable, very human part of Kris and is like... maybe not understanding right off the bat (though I believe she'd have an idea, considering her assumed familiarity with humans) but accepting. Very gentle, just... that's a part of you, isn't it? Which is so very important in contrast to Kris's apparent struggles with identity and self-worth, especially in regards to their SOUL. To feel such a way about this part of themselves, bare it to her, and be met with kindness.
Something about Kris being said to have burning eyes; flickering red, like pretty little flames; fire, a trait undeniably Dreemurr in nature, is fucking me up a little bit
I'm not in the trenches or anything so big grain of salt but. thought thats been rumbling around in my head for a while is that a "possession vs. krissociation" dichotomy regarding 'opposing' ideas of what's going on with Kris isn't a very good jumping off point for discussion Maybe. in my head it's always been more of a spectrum. little sliders demarcating what is """kris""", what is the SOUL, what is some other shit. And even that isn't accommodating enough for some dissociative readings of Kris as a system with more than two parts
Bigger thing, I get the impression that different people mean different things when they say these terms. krissociation especially, I believe that a lot of people who just kind of brush up against the concept come away with an idea of a reading that is quite far from what people who muse on krissociation often actually have.
something something I think we could have better discussions if we just said what we mean instead of using a Word. but im just saying shit
The seven flying Kris's
Ok no I will be petty (on a separate post). Having susie go "it wouldn't be you talking, would it" and "I guess you weren't my real friend" about kris Being Secretly ""Another"" Person feels super bad. Like, really? At the fucking DID allegory???
