And I’m back! (Schedule Update)
Well, that was a fun week off. Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes! You guys are the best.
So, a little bit of a heads up. For the past few months, I’ve been out of work and surviving on my partner’s income till I could get something sorted out. That was part of the reason I started a Patreon. (Please check it out if any of the rewards strike your fancy)
However, that has changed as of late. I’ve recently nabbed some full time work that I’ll be starting training in tomorrow morning, which will pay a modest salary till I (hopefully) pass the training course and become a full time employee. What does that mean for Sunlight though? For the most part, absolutely nothing, save for update frequency. The main reason this series had been updated so frequently (aside from a burst of creativity and inspiration) was because I had the free time to work on it with little to no consequence. But now that I’m starting full time work, I’ll have less time per day to dedicate to the series, which means there will be less updates per week.
That IS of course if I stick to the current process of outlining and shading my work. While I enjoy putting in decent quality, sometimes I find I can go overboard with the level of quality which not only takes more time to do (given how OCD I can be on picture quality), but it can burn me out very quickly, which will result in delays.
So I’ve formed a plan to work around these little developments.
1. The quality of the main series will downsize slightly. For the most part, they’ll have a slightly more “sketchier” look to them, and shading will be spared where possible. This’ll cut off at the very least a couple hours of work time per piece.
2. Higher quality pictures will be saved for MAJOR scenes, such as something that really strikes a chord for me and I really want to get out there in its absolute best. These will take far longer, but I’d prefer to dedicate the best of my abilities to the scenes that deserve them the most.
3. Backgrounds will be spared where possible as well. I’ve gotten away with copying backgrounds from the movies, but even then just finding and editing said backgrounds can be a pain.
So that’s basically the gist of it. Nothing major, and hopefully the whole series will remain appealing to my fans!
As for the next update, I have a couple of files in their WIP stages, and I’ll finish at least one of them within the next couple of days. But I can’t make promises on every single one to come! Real life commitments and all.
But I know I’m still committed to you guys, because I love you, and I know you love seeing our two favourite horses in love~
Take care, and have a wonderful week!
