Strangely enough, Quaritch became an icon of consensual sex for me.

I’ve read a huge amount of fanfiction about him — both in his human body and in his Na’vi body — and in all of them this brutal guy remains an ideal partner: someone who asks what she wants, and then actually gives it to her.

I think we seriously need to stop promoting abusive characters from dark romance — the ones who “can’t control themselves,” who “do things by force and then she ends up liking it,” who stalk her, threaten her, and somehow she falls in love with them afterward. That’s all bullshit, unless we actively want to romanticize sexual violence and Stockholm syndrome.

I’m into characters like Miles Quaritch — grown, strong, beautiful men who understand what consent and genuine desire are.

Men who know they’re wanted — and enjoy being wanted.

Trench Quarfare

My first painted Quar and I had so much fun! I really want to do an army of these guys now. I'm really hoping he does well at a competition I'm attending this month.

Quar! This guy was so fun to paint. Have an order of toulmores on order but a mate gave me this and some other models they printed to try out and oh my they were a joy to sit down and just slap colour on.

A Million Miles From Home...

Fanart for the miniature wargame This Quar's War: Clash of Rhyfles. I love these little anteater dudes, they just want to muck about and eat bugs and drink tea, but instead they are stuck in an endless world war. Many such cases.
