Studied at my sister’s desk today 🐙☀️

My husband is a professor. His online lectures have included: Him calling out adjunt pay and telling the college to shove zoom because his wife is unemployed and they don't pay him enough to deal with this bullshit, me snoring in the background, and him yelling at the cats. I have a friend in his class, she is highly amused.

|| April 2020 || I’ve realised that it’s a lot easier to focus on what the teacher is saying during online classes, but it also takes a lot more dedication and discipline to revise after class compared to being in uni.

So my professor on zoom tried to apologize for ending the class on a bummer note (the extensive slave trade in the Asian Islands specifically) and so she said she's sorry for "making us all depressed, especially given everything going on" as we were all leaving

And maybe it's just cos zoom makes it feel less like I'm actually talking to the full 16 person class, but I immediately unmuted and said "ehhhhh we're all there already, no worries"

Dream Room Get ready to design your dream room! Create your own 1:24 scale model while learning the principles of architecture, construction, and interior design. Each session the students will meet virtually for 90 minutes and have a follow up “homework assignment” that they will be asked to complete to prepare them for the next session.

WHAT WE WILL DO

Examine architecture and architectural terminology

Learn about scale and proportion in order to draft a 1:24 scale room layout

Develop skills in digital drawing and preparing files for laser cutting

Investigate color theory and the fundamentals of interior design

Build a realistic room model with laser cut windows and doors

Furnish and decorate your room by creating custom furnishings, textiles, miniature wall art, and more!

It appears that I have signed up to nightly dance classes in our living room! Table shifted, tv hooked up, water ready, and then we get started!

The first night was good, we could follow along and the background dancer (Sabrina) showed us the more chilled out way to do the moves. We liked her!

Tonight was less-followable, but more of a full routine 🤣 All three of us worked up a sweat, partly in exasperation at not being able to remember any of the moves, but it was good fun nevertheless! I wonder what tomorrow's class will bring 🤔🤗

Explore the world of 3D printing and get started designing and making your own 3D printed items. Students will gain an understanding of the 3D printing process and terminology, as well as structural and process considerations while designing for 3D printing.

What we will do :

- Become familiar with 3D printing technologies including those available at The Makery

- Explore options for 3D modeling software

- Learn basic printing and modeling concepts while creating a design in a free program called TinkerCad

- Learn how to slice and start a print on the two different 3D printers available at The Makery
