after some brainstorming and a lot of wailing to a couple of friends, i thought i’d share an idea with y’all.
as you all know, i took a bit of time off from the writing thing because ... well, because of a lot of reasons 🙃 these days, the creative juices are pumping but i don’t have anything solid, anything worth sharing in its full, completed glory. which got me to wondering how many other folks in this community (and others) are feeling the same or similar?
it’s spring so i’m sure a lot of us are buzzing with energy. but it’s also the apocalypse which, yeah, can kind of cleave through the awesome positive vibes spring brought with it.
so, hey, i was thinking: i have these mini-ideas. blips of plot. suspended scenes in space with no plot around them. stuttering starts or midpoints to stories i don’t know how to tell. and i would love to see how others get creative, get inspired, get down to boogie. you know?
i’ll post my infant scenes and i’d love to see how people respond. hell, if you have a barely-conceived scene and are interested in getting yer own thing going, post away and join what i’m hashtagging: #casuallycreative
continue the scene. rewrite the scene if it didn’t go down in a way that makes emotional sense to you. write the scene for another fandom. self-insert or include an OC to respond/react to the scene. reblog with a song or a picture that the scene reminds you of. keep going, see how many of us can write the scene. hell, hate the scene but like the universe? write something else in the universe! one of those meme-quotes (Character A: *says words* / Character B: *responds* / Character A: *punch line* / Character B: O.o - you know, those ones?), a letter; anything you want!
maybe i’ll post a song and suggest a plot, see who wants to run with it? or a drawing/doodle/stick figures on Paint? or a picture that stirs something or those quote/script things or ... ANYTHING! anything at all.
my main interest is to see how people get inspired, what they take from it, where they go with it? you don’t need to take the scene and write a whole dang story! even just a sentence would be amazing! bullet-point list. skeleton of a script. song title and no link. anecdote. etc.
i’m gonna start this lil’ pet-project ce soir. no one has to participate or even give this a second glance! i’m just ... curious. but i can run with my own insanity (and will likely do so, uploading songs and clips of dialogue and whatever under my own posts 🤣) and will be forging ahead anyway. i suppose i just wanted to let y’all know that anything with the hashtag “#casuallycreative” is basically up for grabsies!

Looking for a way to motivate kids- this weeks game is “winning the day”. How to play: snap a photo of each kiddo, change phone to neutral background. When kiddo is behaving they are the background. When naughty passive aggressively change to different kid or neutral background. Kiddos can check to see who is winning by picking up your phone to see the lock screen. If not winning suggest a chore to be back in the lead. Randomly change photo to your cat to keep the kids guessing.
