Essaouira, août 2010. (argentique)
Yesterday I was able to go home earlier than my usual 5pm (or 7pm) and decided to take a longer route home. I stopped by the Quartier Juif (Jewish Quarter) in the Marais District and took a short stroll (5 blocks at most).
Just in those few streets I saw some amazing buildings and a whole different side of Paris! The Jewish kids just got out of school and took over the narrow streets, and there were the most amazing smells coming from Jewish delis.
One thing in particular that I really liked is the Rue Pavée (Paved Street) where a lot of the buildings are decorated with mosaic designs. The Marais is also one of Paris’ trendiest areas, so the walk was a nice break after 3 back-to-back classes (more about my classes coming later).
