The young gem wasn’t sure how she found herself in the room full of abandonment, warp pads full of cracks and little stickers, she was rather confused, but she couldn’t helpbut be drawn to the biggest one.
“Huh,” She spoke, her bare feet stepping on the first step on the massive pad. She took caution to avoid the cracks, but finally made it atop it. Was this the Homeworld warp? Is this how the war started? She knew she couldn’t answer her own questions, since she was clueless. She gently stepped down and sat criss-crossed in front of the pad, mesmorized by the thought of using it.

➤ the two of them had been hunched over a box of doughnuts && watching animal planet nearly all morning. jasper adored watching the big cats special. observing as the regal animals assured their dominance over the food chain was simply fascinating to her. they didn’t have such creatures on homeworld, so she could watch it for hours. it never got old to her. steven always seemed more than willing to humor her interests— being the one to introduce the channel to her in the first place. unfortunately, certain O T H E R members of the household weren’t too keen on them watching such uncensored && brutal content. as a matter of fact, just as the lion onscreen was about to reach its prey, the tv flickered && went black. jasper yowled in surprise && distress, several crumbs of the pastry she’d been eating spewing across the wood before her. a very disgusted pearl was the one to hold the cord. nagging was soon to ensue, the slender dancer prattling on about the lack of practicality such violent programs possessed, how jasper shouldn’t be letting steven watch such things, && furthermore about how they should be enjoying themselves outside while the weather remained pleasant. && thus, there they were, wandering about beach city with no direction whatsoever. they hadn’t a clue really where they were to go on their adventures through the outdoors. neither were terribly hungry after all those doughnuts, so that left them with swimming, (which jasper was uncomfortable with) a mission on their lonesome, wandering outside the city, or the arcade. ❛ all right, rose. i don’t have any clue what exactly pearl was expecting us to do out here, but it’s clear she won’t quit preaching at us unless we live up to her agenda. so. bring me where you will. you know more about this human territory than i do. ❜

The wet sand was warm and familiar under her bare feet, anchoring the small blind girl as she stood firmly on the shoreline, toes just barely kissing the water’s edge. Though the midday sun was plenty hot, she was sweating for completely different reasons. Jeez, why did she ever agree to take swimming lessons from Steven?
“I don’t know about this...”
❝ There’s a few things in town that I need to retrieve, and I’m going to need some help. ❞
She was leant against the screen door of the temple, ready to slip out into the mid-day air. A wry smile crept onto her face, silently saying, “yes, I mean you.”

The softly alternating lighting of her room did nothing to assuage her headache. She hadn’t left her room in had just become an Earth month and no one had thought to even come and check on her. Well such was life. She had spent millennia inventing for Rose Quartz and now...
She sighed and put her latest project down. She wasn’t entirely sure that Rose Quartz would deem it safe to give her child a flying robotic dog that excreted missiles. but Peridot had observed -not spied-that Steven and his comrade liked that dog a lot. She had replaced the missiles with foam replicas and now... Oh what was the point, the other Crystal Gems were probably going to take it as an attempt on his life whatever her intentions! She huffed and lay her gem against the cool metal of the table.

[If Steven bothers her enough, she would probably at least try fusion to get him to stop bothering her c:]
