1. what was your first concert like? I went to see The Rolling Stones with my whole family. Our seats were literally at the top of Giants Stadium, so as soon as we could, my sister and I bolted down to hang out at the entry way (I am so afraid of heights). It was pretty awesome -- we knew all the words and danced and sang and what have you. At some point, some dude who was probably about 17 and referred to himself as the Egg Man came up and asked us if we wanted to hang out. We declined. And then we went home, listening to my crotchety father bitch about how everyone was standing up and singing along and what the fuck! While my mother mocked the shit out of him.

2. did you ever have any teachers that you wanted to straight-up fight? Oh man, yes. There are some I'd like to go back and punch, but the one I wanted to fight at the time I had them I will sum up thusly: he was a 45-year old man who wore black jeans and white converse, who had everyone call him "Mr. I" and whose favourite book was On The Road. We did not get along.

3. who is your favorite artist? My favourite visual artist is probably a tie -- I adore Van Gogh, especially when you see the work up close, because you can see the madness starting to creep out through all the beauty. I'm also a big fan of Al Hansen, but it may just be because I loved him as a person, too.

4. do you have a favorite bar? YES. Donnybrook on the LES. It's comfy, it serves great drinks, and the owners are the best people ever.

5. quentin tarantino: overrated or no? Not at all. I have some qualms with his absurd overruse of the n-word, but I think he's one of the best directors of the past 25 years, easily.I have disliked exactly one of his movies.

6. if you were a bird of prey what kind would you be? A redtail hawk. They're so pretty. And deadly.

7. what is your favorite north american city? Predictably, it's New York. I love my hometown so fucking much.

8. what was the worst sports-related experience of your life? Probably my second soccer game ever as a goalie, in which I managed to score an own goal on a drop kick. It happened while we were living in a small town, so the bonus was that nobody would let me forget it. (I did substantially improve, largely out of a sense of not ever wanting something like that to happen again).

9. if you could only drink one liquid for the rest of your life what would it be? (if you answer water you are v. boring and I will judge u) OMG. Probably a really nice black tea?

10. who is your street fighter go-to? Assuming you mean the game, CHUN LI. OMG. If it's just about life and I could have anyone take my place in an actualfax street fight, it would be Gina Carano.
