THEY 👏LOVED 👏 EACH 👏 OTHER 👏

Honestly sheer whole hearted devotion and trust Reese and Finch had for each other was/is EPIC. Reese coming from such a broken place despite being at his core a fundamentally decent person, Finch being so reluctant to trust or form attachments, the two of them COMING TOGETHER and FITTING EACH OTHER (and I really loved that ep where we saw the pre-Reese guy and how much he and Finch DID NOT work together). 

Like a lot of their back story with women was sketchy as fuck -- Finch pretending to be dead to Grace but still STALKING HER and being so involved in her life, Reese’s WHOLE MESS with Jessica [though that was just bad writing imo] -- but together, man...I just adored them. LOVED their vibes. LOVED how the show runners HAD to be aware there was this shippy undercurrent to things (& this was very much NOT a show targeted toward the female/fangirl demo) but they if not EMBRACED it but def didn’t seem embarrassed at it, UNLIKE SOME SHOWS I COULD NAME. 

The only really disappointing part of the whole ordeal was that Finch was shuffled off to ~be happy with Grace~ (BUT GRACE HAD HER OWN LIFE. SHE’D MOURNED HIM. SHE’D MOVED ON. WHY. DO. THIS.) and Reese had his whole ~noble sacrifice but like. In a way it was ALWAYS going to end with a noble sacrifice, with him. 

I just. Kind of wish it hadn’t. They deserved a chance to be happy and at peace!!!!! A SOFT EPILOGUE, ETC. 

ALSO THEY HAD A DOG BABY AND THEY LOVED BEAR SO MUCH. IT PAINS ME.

Plot: Quasar is the story of a young astronaut named Halley, a young girl who travels in her spaceship to deep space. Accompanying her is an otter named Mr. Dayan, her faithful assistant. Due to the explosion of a nearby supernova, a meteorite violently hits the ship pushing them dangerously towards destruction. To avoid that fate, the ship's artificial intelligence closes Halley in a safety capsule with Mr. Dayan, and shoots them out into the space where they will find themselves wandering without a precise goal. The sudden and unexpected event pushed Halley into the cosmic void, frightened by the immensity of space and the fear of never being able to get anywhere. Dark matter is lurking in the universe, and the protagonist needs to recharge her energy in order to survive the chaos of the cosmos. This is intended to be a metaphor for the transition from childhood to adolescence, but also for the events that upset our life by placing us in front of an apparently path with no way out. Halley then began this journey with the aim of finding the interstellar matter necessary to feed her inner black hole (given by the heart-shaped device on her chest), following a varied path that has the planets of the Solar System as main stages.

10. Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?

Mutual pining OBVIOUSLY. If it were just friends to lovers this would be close, but I just don’t really care for ships that start w people being enemies (with some notable exceptions: Zuko/Sokka, Lawrusso, etc; but in those cases they’re like -- enemies as teens becoming friends later is nice, and also the REAL enemy is actually someone/something else and they’re both victims of it).  

BUT mutual pining -- esp when they’re actually already effing but pretending not to be too emotionally invested in it -- is my faaavorite. It’s literally all I would read if I could. I don’t even need the resolution to be, big love confessions or anything. Just keep up with the mutual pining/pretending to be FWB until you’re so totally wrapped up in each other emotionally that you can’t escape!! and never actually have to confess your feelings!!! the DREAM.

19. What’s your favorite character headcanon?

oh i’m still just so fond of jewish!chas. idk it’s just nice and it fits his background and the idea of chas & zed having “eyeroll at john’s white/english nonsense” solidarity always fills me w/ glee. i really should do more with it in fic, too.

reverse unpopular opinion: the skywalkers

Ppl send topics and instead of salt or hot takes, you MUST talk abt smth you like about it. Good excuse to gush abt smth you already love, OR think and find smth positive to say.

Hard mode, “missed potential” is NOT allowed as an answer.

As much as I hate the centering of the entire Star Wars mythos on ONE SINGLE FAMILY, to the point that every subsequent collateral story HAS to at least have one (1) Skywalker cameo, in another way I do love how these ~saviors of the galaxy~ all come from a middle of nowhere garbage dust planet. Like, they’re working class (or, in Anakin’s case, actually enslaved) and they become heroes due to their abilities but also have an innate core of decency despite the difficult lives they’ve led, and I just -- think that’s nice. Even Anakin, with all his flaws, cares deeply for the people he loves, to the point that it’s the cause of some of his worst actions. 

Like Leia’s great but Leia also had the privilege of growing up as a princess in a very sophisticated world; Han is great but he’s a ~cool streetwise smuggler and already defacto an interesting character bc of that. Luke’s just a farmboy! He works on his uncle’s farm and dreams of bigger things, the most basic of backstories, but he’s a good boy and he helps save the galaxy. Rey’s an orphan who came from nowhere and raised herself, but she’s smart and strong enough to hold her own against Kyle Ron (who had all the training and privilege in the galaxy to get to where he is). 

idk. the idea of just being soooo uniquely talented gets a lot of flack bc mary sue reasons or w/e, but somehow the movies do a good job with “from humble beginnings” + “lots of innate raw talent” without it feeling eyerolly to me; they do the legwork a lot w/ Rey (probably to forestall the Mary Sue complaints, not that it did) of why she’s so good at XYZ, but even with Luke, you get the sense that a lot of his skills likewise come from y’know, having to be at least a bit tough to survive on Tatooine. (And Anakin actually went through Jedi training, so).
