Si Ming/Jin Bao Book vs. Series

This version of Si Ming and Jin Bao is sooo much better than the book. That snow scene was so cute! I wish we could learn more about their childhood together.

In the book, everything happens off screen and Si Ming won't let Jin Bao be with Xiaobao and Zhou Cai very much so it really looks like he's being abused until this whole running away thing happens. Thetranslation is really rough at that part, but it seems like Jin Bao made an advance on the doctor and got embarrassed. Then Si Ming says he has to take responsibility. So, there wasn't any past connection, Jin Bao just fell for him off screen. By the end I didn't really buy it at all, so yeah another point for the series in elevating the undeveloped plot threads.

The only dialogue I really need them to bring from the book is when Si Ming says only Jin Bao can touch him, and only if he hasn't touched anyone else first.
