As trembling words parted from her lips, she couldn’t confront him, she just couldn’t stand seeing him stand in front of her, his plastic smile having been tarnished ever since his name was as well. He was in her way, & no matter how much he talked, she only found herself be muddled by them. An apology wasn’t what he was here for, he was at least clever enough to know she wouldn’t accept it either way, but perhaps an explanation was a fairer bet.
What was there for him to explain, though? That he murdered her husband, his mejor amigo, because he couldn’t let go? All because he didn’t want him to leave, that it was the only choice he had to keep him?
Anger & despair sat on her skeletal features as she tried to collect her thoughts into a single sentence, but she couldn’t. Every glance that she took, every fatal breath she inhaled in front of him–it was too much for her to bear. Exhaustion wisped into her soul, & if she could, she wanted him to disappear. Teeth gritted tightly as she stared directly at the ground, & as she spoke, she did everything in her willpower to keep composed. However, the dreadful feeling crept through her system, causing her voice to shake in agony.
“ That day, when you two left…I had doubts, but like the tonta I was, I decided to give you my trust. ¿Did you even ever realize that much? ”
No, of course he wouldn’t have. Subtle gestures & acts of kindness had always seemed to slip away from his vision, no matter how genuine it was. She wasn’t stupid to not have realized how much he detested her, & in return, that was exactly how she treated him back–with hatred through bickering. But she had never thought she truly would see him under that light, & frankly, it hurt.
“ Make this easier for us & just…never appear in front of me again. This is the last time I ever want you in my sight…& stay away from him too. You’ve caused enough trouble for all of us. ” Softness had accompanied her answer, though her grudge remained.
